  1. I also have recurrent BPPV. I only had one cruise on a smaller ship that aggravated my symptoms and caused post-cruise dizziness. Like the other poster said, I took Bonine regularly and that really helped manage symptoms. I now take Bonine proactively and haven't had an issue since. I also perform the Epley maneuver on my own if symptoms flare and get quick relief from that. I would also suggest sticking to larger ships (Quantum or Oasis class) since I've found them to be more stable. And, pick a mid ship room on a lower deck to minimize movement. Good luck sailing!

  2. I ordered the tests and received them quickly. When I ordered, I just put in my name along with my husband and daughter. However, my sister came down with symptoms and I gave her a test to use. She was able to download the app and use the test with no problem (neg!). You are not tied to the names you put in when you purchase the test.

  3. We sailed the Harmony in Feb '18 and were able to open the dividers between our boardwalk balconies (3 in a row). The opening between balconies is just the width of the divider door (not the full divider), but it's enough to pass through to the other balconies. When sitting in the chairs on the balcony, you won't necessarily be able to see the people on the next balcony because of the other half of the divider. Still, it's great to be able to pass back and forth easily between cabins.

  4. Haha, we got that same cake last year on the Grandeur (minus the berries and decoration). Just a straight up chocolate cake, not at all like the elegant one in the online photo. The kids dug into it and it was delicious. We brought a picture up to guest services just to let them know that what we received did not at all resemble what we ordered--we just wanted to make sure no one else was disappointed in the future. They handed us a bottle of sparkling wine (not asked for or expected since we ate the cake), but I'm not likely to order a cake online again.

  5. The Pets at Sea shop was on the boardwalk and was open during our 2/7/16 cruise. However, they only had 1 or 2 options for stuffed animals (lion) and a very poor selection of accessories. There were also some pre-made options left over with a holiday theme. I got the impression that they were phasing out the stock to close the shop. Not sure if there are any official plans for that.

  6. My kids have seen the show on the Quantum and in NY, plus the movie (many times). Any adult themes go right over their head. There are definitely sexual innuendos, but nothing too overt and I don't remember any swearing. I think the first time they saw it they were 6 and 8 and they were hooked. It's great music and a lot of fun! I think the Cruise Compass says it's for ages 13 and up, but I definitely think younger kids will enjoy it.

  7. When I was on the Allure a couple years ago with my kids (ages 6 and 8), they had all sorts of kid-friendly things going on, including face painting, balloon animals, parades, Dreamworks characters popping up all over the ship, etc. They really enjoyed all the shows, especially the Aqua Theatre show, and loved drinking a Shirley Temple on the Rising Tide bar. We did cupcake decorating classes, which was messy but fun. I also remember a special "family dance party" night at Dazzles. They weren't bored for a second! Your kids will love it!

  8. I just booked the comedy show for my February cruise on the Allure and all the times said "adult". When I was selecting guests, my kids were grayed out so it wasn't even an option to add them since they were under age.

I have heard that sometimes they will put on a "family friendly" comedy show, but I didn't see that listed for booking on my cruise.

  9. I called Monday as soon as I heard that the cabanas were available for reservations (cruising in February on Allure). The regular Nellie's beach ones were $250 so I immediately reserved. When I went to check today to see if more were available, I saw the $350 and $495 prices. That seems like such a ridiculous price hike! I was hoping that meant more amenities, but I didn't see anything additional listed. I just can't imagine paying that much (or how Royal Caribbean can justify that price point).
