Kitty9, sorry your solo Regent experience was bad! Mine have been just the opposite. My most recent Regent cruise was a 3-week northern Atlantic crossing, and everyone, including the dining staff, were flexible, whether I wanted to sit with a group or by myself. (My job requires meeting strangers on a constant basis. I love it and enjoy new cruising friends on every voyage, but my introverted nature needs peace and quiet on vacation, too!) Several nights I was seated with officers or some of the performers, who were most engaging. On some lines, as a single you get seated at the "island of misfit toys" table, but that was not my experience with Regent. Crystal has also been good. I have no complaints about Silversea, but nothing particularly memorable either.
