  1. I have to admit that I find it rather amazing that Carnival can send me an e-mail advising me of an upcoming cruise on the Sunshine ( which I do NOT have ) when they were unable to send me one letting me know that my cruise on the Splendour later this year was cancelled.

The only way I found out about that cancellation was by reading about it here on CC.

The number of screwups they have made lately and some of the awful changes they have made in music, entertainment etc are all reasons why I have sworn off them for the time being. ( perhaps forever if RCCL continues to impress me )

  2. Has anyone else NOT received the notice about Splendor cruises being cancelled ? There are six of us ( three couples ) booked on the November 9, 2014 cruise. As of today, only one of us has been sent the letter that ouir cruise is cancelled. Span folders have been checked and nothing there. One of us did get a letter saying that a shore excursion

( FTTF ) was cancelled but that's all.

Once I saw it here on CC I tried calling Carnival's Guest Services which turned out to be a joke. The young lady I talked to confirmed the cruise was gone but when she called up my booking it was gone as well. When I asked about the money I had on deposit she didn't know anything and suggested I call Accounting after the holidays.

Due to a less then brilliant cruise on the Breeze in September the six of us have decieded we are done with Carnival at least until they get their act together and quite possibly forever.

  3. I didn't explain it very well. I booked early saver and the price I found on Carnival's fare viewer was also Early Saver. Carnival's people are telling me that the rate was really Military and not early saver, yet the sheet I printed out clearly says Early Saver. Does that make it any clearer.

  4. I am hoping someone can help with this one. I booked a cruise on the Splendor for next November. We got a great Early Saver rate for an extended aft balcony cabin. The deal was so good I managed to convince two other couples to join us and we were able to have three ajoining stateroons across the stern on deck seven.

Since then I have been watching the pricing for any reductions. We did find one a few months ago and did get it. I saw a second one last weekend and sent it in for two of the couples (they don't use a computer that much ) The third couple submitted it themselves.

I kept a screen shot of the pricing. It very clearly says Early Saver on it. All three of us have been rejected as Carnival's staff says it is a Military Discount.I offered to send the screen shot, they tell us they don't care, they won't look at it. I have been trying to deal with this by e-mail, one of the others tried calling. The phone call ended with my friend being hung up on after talking to a supervisor. They will not even consider the possibility they could be wrong.

It's not a lot of money but I am convienced we are in the right. What good is the Early Saver deal if they can just refuse it any time they feel like it. None of us were in the military so why would we even think of claiming that. Right now they refuse too look at the screen shot, any idea what my next step would be.

All six of us have decided that this will be our goodbuy to Carnival if they don't make it right. This is after a total of 28 cruises for my wife and myself.. ( not all on Carnival but it goes all the way back to the Mardi Gras ) The second couple is close to our total and the third are newbies. This is only their third and first on Carnival.
