Berly369, all posts saying 3.5 to 4 hours are correct. The Hyatt is close to the port, but there is not much to walk to there. There is a Marriott at Beach Place that is in the heart of and across the street from Ft Lauderdale beach. All the shops, restaurants and action you want to see. If you need to be transported to the Port anyway, it won't matter if you are down the road a bit. There is also the Radisson Bahia Mar near there across from the beach.
