  1. George and Jonathan,

Greetings. Jim and Jason, the World Travelers, are interested in getting together a table as well. They chose the early seating and we chose the late seating; however the four of us are flexible and are willing to change our dining arrangements to make it happen.

If you are interested in joining us, please drop me a line at redviking@tds.net and please let us know what your current arrangements are. I believe Celebrity will ultimately ask us each to contact them to link our reservations to create a dining table. We've arranged tables on Royal Caribbean the same way.

    Everyone else reading this post,

Do come join us and please let us know your seating preference. Let's try to join together at a large table. It's undoubtedly going to be THE table to watch once we get underway.

  2. George and Jonathan,

Good morning and welcome. This cruise will be our first Transpacific cruise as well. Our next cruise may just be a Transatlantic cruise (east to west), but hey, we've got a grand adventure ahead of us next month. Have you also booked the cruise afterwards?

Not much activity on this thread but I have been corresponding with a wonderfully witty gentleman from Palm Springs (world_travelers) who with his traveling companion will continue on to the next cruise after we depart on 28 September. They opted for the early dining seating and we, the late seating. Which seating did you choose? It would be great to link reservations to create a table and we are open to changing to the early seating if that will make it happen and Celebrity still has space for us in that seating.

Really looking forward to unplugging, especially for the seven sea days. No Internet, no telephones ringing. A slice of heaven...

  3. Good morning, CanWeGoYet, and thank you for your post. All are welcome here.

We will book excursions through Celebrity for the reason you mentioned. I must check for updates; however when last I checked, Celebrity still has not posted excursions for all of our ports, just Petropavlovsk and Hakodate, I believe. With the situation between Russia and Ukraine escalating, it would be helpful to know if we're indeed stopping in Petropavlovsk so we can fully commit.

Celebrity posted this on their web site regarding an itinerary change for a September 20 cruise that would have made stops in Ukraine:

The Yokohama to Vancouver cruise left today so I will monitor that forum in a few weeks to see if anyone posts regarding their experiences.

Great name - CanWeGoYet. I feel the same way! Very much looking forward to our adventure in September.

  4. Petropavlosk or no Petropavlovsk - that is the question that shall intrigue until we either arrive or are diverted to another port.

It looks like the May 10 crossing will still be stopping there according the their thread. Safe travels, all.

Interestingly enough, the September 2015 crossing replaces Petropavlovsk with Dutch Harbor, Alaska, a docked port versus tender port. I have not been to Alaska yet so if we made a similar stop swap this year, I wouldn't be upset. Don is looking forward to our brief excursion into Russia and I will enter into the spirit once underway, yet the time spent in tender travel could be better used to soak up the local scenery.

Has anyone else recently booked this cruise? So far just the Word Travelers and Don and I have chimed in.

  5. Welcome, world_travel_er(s) and thank you for your post. We are also fairly undecided about excursions as of yet. Intrigued to see what will develop with Russia and if the May cruise will even stop in Petropavlosk. Hope so! We'll arrive in Vancouver the night before the cruise. Found a great boutique hotel called the Loden, recommended by a colleague at the office. Bit pricey, yet we're only in the Vancouver to Yokohoma cruise since we must eventually return to work. Almost everyone else seems to be B2B. What an adventure you'll have.

I will drop you a line via the e-mail address you specified, sirs. Only 24.5 weeks until vacation!

  6. My partner Don and I just booked the September 12, 2014 Celebrity Millenium (Vancouver - Yokohama) cruise this afternoon. We enjoy cruising whenever we can and this itinerary will definitely take us in a different direction.

Anyone else booked for this adventure? It would be great to meet new friends and to share a dinner table (8:30 PM seating; 8-10 people).

Looking forward to hearing from you. Come one, come all - all are welcome.

Apologies. Yokohama is actually spelled Yokohama NOT Yokohoma, or for that matter Yoohoohomo. I suppose if we're going to visit, I should actually spell the destination correctly.

  8. Robert and Uncle Rex,

Keep jumping on cruises and Don and I may just very well catch up with you eventually! How wonderful for you to be able to continue your voyage together. If the cabin door is rocking...

I can't imagine you needing to lose ten pounds, Robert, not with your regal bearing. It's just a matter of proper lighting.

Palm Springs sounds like a grand idea next February or March if we happen to find you at home. When you return from your back to back to back to back to back and back again voyage, please drop me a line. My signature includes my e-mail address.

Don, Sandra, and I really enjoyed our reunion at sea. We often spoke of you - the sleds at Funchal brought back memories of your temporary (yet literal) downhill slide. He and she and I send love. Do you wear sapphires on the Sapphire Princess, emeralds on the Emerald Princess? Tell, do.

    Now, go get 'em'

    Derew
