  1. MSC are very family friendly with reduced kids prices and Lego themed kids clubs. We did MSC Divina out of Miami last year and I recommend it

Thanks for posting this! We are planning to cruise on the Divina next May out of Miami and do not see enough information posted about cruising on MSC with children. Looking forward to your review!:)

  2. We're seriously considering this ship for our next cruise(spring break 2016) and are psyched about the announcement of the partnership with Lego:D. Can anyone share their experience? I have 3 boys who are Lego fanatics:p. I know there will be one day dedicated to Legos but I wanted to know if anyone can confirm the Divina has the Lego wall/building in their kids club.

Also if anyone can share their experience traveling with children on this ship. I've searched for reviews but have not come across that many. We're also interested in the kids cooking class. I did see Gambee's awesome detailed review with pictures of the kids areas but haven't seen any new ones. Does anyone know if the Divina has updated their kids area with the Lego theme?

  3. As Serene56 mentioned, the staff will bring you items from the regular menu. They were very accommodating. :)

Not sure if they change the format based on the volume of people but I read a previous comment saying that the characters did not come to their table. Each character did visit each table but our breakfast was not crowded. Also, on our sailing, the sign up table was by the pool. This was the first thing I did when I got on.

  4. You can also apply them to your account when you check in. I had several cards and the customer service rep was very helpful in applying them to my account. Funds were available as soon as I got on board.

  5. We were there two weeks ago and they accepted USD with no issues. I took everyone's advice and brought small bills. I also used the coupon from their website and made sure to show my ID and they accepted it. We also bought drinks with USD with no problems.

We had a great time and I will definitely return!

  6. We were in Cozumel two weeks ago on the Ecstasy and they told us the ship's time was one hour ahead of Cozumel time. We arrived at 1:00pm and was happy about this because it gave us extra time at Chankanaabb.

  7. Had a wonderful time! I registered once I boarded and there was a table set up by the pool area on the Carnival Ecstasy. It cost $5pp and our time was 9:00am.

They had the area decorated very nicely(Ice sculpture, statues, centerpieces, boards etc) and there were lots of picture opportunities. The characters came to each table and you could take pics with your camera and the ship's photographer was also taking pictures. I ordered a regular omelet, bacon and the colorful pancakes. My two boys ordered the green eggs and ham. Only my 9 year old was brave enough to try the eggs. There was also French toast with cereal all over it which looked fun. Along with the items on the special menu, you were able to get regular items: cereal, scrambled/fried eggs, bacon etc. There was fun kids music playing during the breakfast and the crew also did a little skit. They wore shirts with Thing 1, 2-33 etc. We also wore our Thing shirts and our pictures came out great.

I am so glad we did it. The parade/story time was also a lot of fun. It was a great experience.

  8. We just returned from our cruise on the Ecstasy. Traveled with a 3, 9 and 11 year old. There was something for everyone! We traveled the week of Memorial Day holiday. Had a few encounters with some not so nice passengers but the ship was not over run with out of control people.

There were lots of families with younger children during our cruise. We used the kids club a few times and they enjoyed the activities. They LOVED the slides and splash area. My 3 year old had a blast on the kiddie slide. My 9 year old went in the pool and said it was fun. My 9 and 11 year old enjoyed the Harry Potter trivia, Hasbro Game Show and the bean bag competition.

The green eggs and ham breakfast was so much fun and worth it. We enjoyed our experience on this cruise.

  9. I'm sailing on this cruise on Labor Day. I keep seeing mixed reviews. It's good to see something with as many details as yours.

I went through the same thing while researching before our cruise. We just returned from the Ecstasy and had a great time! Had a few unpleasant passengers but didn't let it ruin the entire cruise experience. Never experienced slow service in the main dining room and we did have anytime dining. The servers we all friendly and pleasant to us. There were so many food options on the ship, there was something for everyone.

  10. I've sailed on both. Unfortunately we sailed on the Fantasy before the water works addition. We just got off the Ecstasy and had a blast. I chose it for the water works, itinerary(Cozumel) and the great deal I got. Kids LOVED the water works area 3 slides and different spray areas. My 3 year old was able to go up and down the kiddie slide(over and over.....). My 9 year old loved the big slide. We loved our experience on the Ecstasy.

  11. We just returned from our cruise on the Ecstasy and don't let anyone discourage you about the dress code. During our cruise(and on previous ones), we never encountered anyone dressed inappropriately in the main dining room.

We chose anytime dining and ate 3 out of the 4 nights in the main dining room. The elegant night(which is on the 2nd as previously mentioned)everyone was dressed nicely. I didn't see any tuxedos but did see dress shirts, ties, cocktail dresses(did see a few long gowns which were beautiful). I traveled with my boys and dressed them in slacks, colorful long sleeved dress shirts, ties and matching handkerchiefs. I wore a black cocktail dress, nice jewelry, heels and matching clutch. On the other nights, the people we saw in the dining room were dressed nicely for dinner(I wore nice maxi dresses and they boys wore plaid or cargo shorts with nice shirts/polos). The last night I did see quite a few people looking very dressed for dinner others were in sun dresses, polo shirts, cargo shorts/khakis.

I researched so much for this cruise and read so many negative comments. I am glad I didn't listen and dressed how we wanted to dress, others did the same! I will work on my review but we had a great time on this cruise.

  12. Just wanted to chime in. My co-workers can't understand that I enjoy traveling with my kids! I'm about to take my boys on a cruise(2nd time for my oldest ones and 1st time for my youngest) and I am so excited to share the experience with them. We have fun looking back at pictures we took on previous vacations and sharing memories. I just ignore what everyone says and will continue to expose my boys to new experiences:D.

  13. I've been following this thread since Friday and you guys have been so helpful:)! So Friday I downloaded the coupon, left work and bought the two cards($25.00 each) only paid $40.00. Saturday, used my MIL's card, downloaded coupon and went to the Kroger by our home. Got another two for $40.00:). Monday got to work and tried my co-worker's card but couldn't download. I came on here and read the update. I was so bummed(co-workers felt sorry for me lol). Then I read sunnydaygirl's post:

So. Called Kroger. 1-800-krogers. Wait till digital coupons is option. The nice lady "in Digital coupons" could find no record of this coupon ever existing. She said if enough people call in asking about it, it will be looked into. Best she could do was tell me to go to the store, have them call and verify its a legit coupon and they'll credit me $10. Better than nothing. But really, no knowledge of their own stores coupon! Why even have a digital coupon department. So call!!

So I went to the Kroger on my lunch break and asked the lady at customer service to call the Digital Coupon Dept and she did. After a few minutes of back and forth conversation the clerk told her that she would use a code they have for problems with digital coupons! So I got another two cards for $40.00;)

So for our upcoming trip, total gift cards $150.00 and I paid $120.00. Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Every little bit helps.
