  1. there is also a splash park in town square.

the ferry did not run while we were there last week.

you can take the trolleys all the way to columbus cove.

we also ate there and it wasn't crowded, food was great.

don't forget to bring something for kido to play in the water or sand with.

  2. just back from there last week! had seniors and teenagers but no kids. seniors enjoyed people watching and just riding the trolley back and forth.

we enjoyed the water and the food at columbus cove. the trolley will take you all the way there.

if the seniors need help with walking there are wheel chairs available as you disembark the ship. both beach ones and pavement ones.

the town square had a cute spray park for the kids, but sure they will enjoy the beach too with a few cups to build sandcastles with or collect tiny seashells. might take some blowup toys for them to float on for cheap.

  3. Just did a 5 nite cruise Haiti & Jamaica. We had a great time. 6315 handicap promenade, 6314 balcony, 6373 inside sleeping 4. Mom & dad loved their handicapped promenade room. Lots of room, 2 couches, huge bathroom with sit down bench for shower. Great people watching, was a little difficult to see some of the shows on the promenade, right across from café promenade. Mom discovered that she did not have to go all the way up to the buffet for coffee. Free coffee at the pizza place in the promenade and sometimes in casino. Also able to refill soda pkg cups at pizza place or café promenade plus any bar you were passing if they weren’t too busy. Pizza place also had free shrimp, chef, or chicken salads and the best cookies on board, white chocolate and cranberry. My brother had the 4 adults in inside room. Wow that was cozy, not what I would want to do but he thinks differently. Said it was like camping. My husband and I had the balcony room, right across from my parents. It was just a standard balcony room but the balcony seemed very spacious compared to carnival one we did. It was about 8 x 10. I had ordered the anniversary pkg for us. The decorations were nice. The chocolate cake was the best desert we had on the ship. I had to show them the online ad to get the pillow cases and towel as those did not show up on the onboard ship information flyer but did get them on the last nite. Loved them. The refrigerator only had 2 water bottles in it which I removed. No more mini bar I guess. Used the refrigerator for diet soda I had brought on board in a duffle bag, checked it through bag check, and the wonderful cake. I did not find much in the windjammer worth trying a second time but my husband liked it. Thought the food in the main dining room was great. Had several appetizers, entrees, and desert each nite. They were pretty small serving so able to try more. The scallop appetizer was 2 dime sized scallops. Had lobster on the last nite, was not a formal nite. Did not care for the beef entrees, tried my husbands. Prime rib tasted like pot roast. Steak tasted like it was dipped in aujus. The seafood was much better. Escargot was on the menu every nite. Had lunch in the main dining room 2 at sea days, had a great salad bar. Did only the ice show and it was great. Too tired to stay up for anything else. The blue water at both Haiti and Jamaica was wonderful. Jamaica felt like everyone had their hand out. We did a private outside tour and saw some of ocho rios. Found a golf cart to give my parent a ride to the off site location. My niece did pretty good getting free shopping stuff. That is always fun to do. I did get one gem, a bamboo lei, and the charm bracelet and charm. I wasn’t with her and she got a lot more stuff, but nothing like what we got when we did st Thomas. Haiti beach was wonderful. Played in the water, walked around, did not attempt the merchants on the hill but did do the little store. Rode the trolley up and down and up and down with my mother. They did have wheel chairs available to get you off the dock and to the trolley or beach, both types of wheel chairs. Found some small seashells, I love shelling. Found 3 different types of sea urchins. The lunch was great, chicken, ribs, hamburgers. ate at the Columbus cove location, not crowded at all. They had a really cute little spray park for kids close to the town square. Flew into Miami and out of fll. Sure took a lot of tips for all the wheel chair handlers. The port has a handler into the dock building and another onto/off the ship. Plus the porter for the luggage. They were pushing the mobile passport app to do the customs thing on the tv, so thought we’d try it. It did get us in a shorter line for customs but they still wanted to see the passport , didn’t care about the customs form, or the fact that the app wasn’t being read by the screen reader, just pushing people through as fast as they could. Had to wait in the bordello lounge for a wheel chair to exit the ship. Coming early was not a help as they waited until your luggage tag number was called before getting the wheel chair for you. Also waited in the bordello lounge for the muster call. I took my parents seapass card to our muster station to check in and then was able to go back and sit with them in the lounge.

  4. I'm interested in doing this too but in January. What is recommended for seeing Florida Everglades? Seems to be amusement zoo type attractions and then there is the Everglades national park, or tour guides off on their own. Can some familiar with this make recommendations. Tia

  5. For anyone that buys the coupon shopping book to get the free trinkets, st thomas is the place to go. We went to the town area to collect our free charms, earrings, necklaces, and bags. There were people standing on the street trying to get you to come into their stores. I told them we were just collecting the free things and they offered us jewelry to come in their store. More charms, earrings, and gems. There were 6 of us, we had a great time collecting free souvenirs for about 30 minutes. Only one of us had the coupon book and she really did not get much more than the rest of us. But don't forget the shopping coupons they hand you as you get off the ship.

  6. We just got back and we did a tour. The view was wonderful but saw lots of other things on the tour too that we're great. I would definitely not try driving those hills myself. As some points the driver stops and honks before going around the corners. We used Godfrey tours. Shopping and tour for $25 ea
