Outrageous prices? Wow! They are about as cheap as I have ever seen. Usually pay $8 for a drink in L.A. so a litle over $5 is cheap as it comes for me. I will gladly pay their prices. I also order a bottle or 2 to be delivered to my room so I can have drinks on the balcony. Maybe you should try that. Call well wishers or just because of you and have it delivered.
As stated in my post above, if I could afford a balcony, I'm sure I'd be fine purchasing $5-$8 drinks. :p
A cruise for us is a REAL treat. It's not something we're able to do every year or multiple times a year. In order to make a cruise once every 5 years we gotta be cheap lol.

I've never found the prices to be out of line--as a matter of fact, they're cheaper onboard the ship than in most clubs in my area (No. Va.) Unless you're drinking an ungodly amount, it hardly seems worth the effort to lug a bunch of heavy liquid filled bottles with you! C'mon, you can afford the cruise--you can't afford a few beers or cocktails????
Actually this cruise is an xmas gift. Parents are paying for the cruise but not the booze, of course. Also, let me just say if we had paid for the cruise we'd be drinking the free stuff the entire time lol.
Also, $5 for a beer and like $7 for a mixed drink is pretty ridiculous IMHO. I'm not a club hopper or anything so a single drink at a price like that is dang expensive to me. I can pay $20 for the supplies to make 20 mixed drinks instead of $7 per mixed drink that would total ~$140. Although, a lot of people on these forums are able to afford at least one cruise a year so I see where some of you are coming from. We won't be able to afford our own cruise for a good 3-4 years lol.
I'll at least try to sneak a couple of fifths on board. I HIGHLY doubt they will kick you off the ship. I'm fairly certain they will simply take them until the cruise is over, if anything.

What is the best way? I have some co-workers who know people who do it every year. I definetly want to at least attempt to sneak on our own booze instead of paying the outrageous prices at the bars.
Any tips and hunts are apprecaites! :)

Exactly how I think! I plan on purchasing some drinks, but I can't afford to spend $100-$150 on drinks during the cruise. I'll be buying the beer and my girl can make her own this way.
