  1. thanks for the update.

Do you know if you were the first Transfer Bus to leave the port? Im curious, why did it take almost 2 hours before you arrived at the airport if only a 30-45 min drive?

I agree, arriving at the airport at 8am is too late if you have a flight that leaves at 10am or earlier.

Our time to meet for debarkation was 6:15; we were the second number called (after all the walk offs, etc.) we actually got on the bus about 6:35 and there were three buses that left ahead of us. We had to wait until our bus was full (we were Red 3 and I know some Red 4 & 5 got on the bus after we did) so I don't remember exactly when we actually left the terminal. It was sometime before 8 when we got our bags but the BA counter only had one agent there at the time and others didn't appear until there was a huge line. Don't know if Delta handles it better.

  2. Hello. I disembark from the Regal on May 12th in Copenhagen at the Oceankaj Pier. My Delta flight is at 10am. I would prefer to walk off the ship as early as possible with my luggage and hail a taxi at the pier. My three questions for anyone who has recent experience with this situation:

    1. Are taxis going to be readily available early in the morning at the pier?

    2. Can I prearranged a taxi pick up prior to the cruise?

    3. Should I take the Princess transfer to the airport?

Thank you for any help! I'm kind of freaking out!

We just disembarked the Regal in Copenhagen yesterday. We had a 10:40 flight on BA; took the Princess transfer and got off the ship at 6:15 am and were at the airport before 8:00 a.m. Our luggage was waiting for us in a tent at the airport, we picked it up, walked to the terminal, and stood in line to check our bags, then had to go through security. We had enough time but if I had a 10:00 a.m. flight I think I would opt for the taxi since it's about a 30-45 minute drive depending on traffic and several people on our bus had an earlier flight and were concerned they might not make it. Sorry, I can't help you with the taxi situation since we didn't walk through the terminal but they may have been there.

  3. That is considered a PRIMO cabin. :) (8088 is even better)

We just got back from a transatlantic and were in 8088 for two weeks. The location was really convenient and the balcony was huge, however, bands played every night in the Centrum until almost midnight. They were very loud and we could hear them as clearly as if we were sitting on Deck 4 so if you're not a night owl and are a light sleeper, you might not be happy with this cabin.

  4. I booked this cabin because it had an interesting configuration on the deck plan. Not knowing what to expect, we were amazed when we walked in last week. The cabin is huge compared to others in that category...there's a short hall that opens into a large room and it has two windows instead of one. It felt more like a hotel room than a ship cabin.

  5. The agency we booked our cruise with recommended Assist-Card and it sounded like good coverage so even though we usually get our own insurance, we took it. We had to cancel our cruise before our final payment was due so we got our deposit back from the cruise line but there was an agency charge (another story...I won't use an agency again that imposes a fee either). After two calls to Assist-Card they finally emailed the necessary forms to submit a claim. A month after they received the forms, I hadn't heard from them; I emailed them twice..no response. I called them several times and left messages on their voice mail..no response. Finally I did reach someone, was put on hold for 20 minutes and when someone in claims finally answered, she said they were still reviewing the claim and would let me know in two or three days. After two weeks I called again; left messages again; emailed again..no response. It is now two months since they received my claim and I got a letter in the mail today that the claim has been denied. I could appeal but I'm just giving up and chalking it up to lesson learned.

  6. We had to cancel a Med cruise for November because my DH had emergency surgery in September and his surgeon didn't want him to make a transatlantic flight that soon. We always buy travel insurance but this is the first time we've used TruTravel (first time we've ever had to make a claim...thank goodness!). I'm happy to report that the claim process was easy; just downloaded the forms, instructions were clear and we received a check within two weeks. We've scheduled another cruise and are using them again.
