Could you please post your list of dining venues. I was interested in peoples opinions on the specialty dining venues.
OMG . . . I will have to search for it because I did not save it. I only wrote down what applied to the Enchanted. If you want that info, I can definitely post it. Just say so!

May want to check this, as Princess usually sails from Brooklyn.
Yes, it has been confirmed to me thru the harbor listing for 2024 that we do indeed sail out of Brooklyn. Cancelled old hotels and booked new ones for less money. Just a note that Choice Hotels have a military/veteran discount that wound up saving us about 50.00 per night. Be for warned, prices are high even for mediocre hotels.

I'm afraid you might be confusing the fact that they don't list specific days with thinking it is an everyday schedule. It is not. Afternoon tea in the dining room is only served on sea days now. Just one of the things that has changed with Princess over time, probably because there was just not enough demand on port days when most people are out and about, so they couldn't continue to justify the food and staffing. Lunch in the main dining room is no longer offered on port days either.
Well,

Well, I guess we will just wait and see how this ship handles it! 🙂

Really? Because I replied to a post just today on this very forum that basically said anyone not purchasing a package is only not doing so as they plan to stiff the crew by not paying gratuities. So yeah, people opting out do get kicked around as well.
I think people get too precious about these topics when it is just a discussion of why some like it and some don’t. I do agree that it is completely ingenuous and a knee jerk response to claim packages aren’t very cost effective for many people. They certainly are.
But it’s equally as ridiculous to infer that they are so cost effective that one must be daft not to invest, or incredibly cheap, or must not want enjoy a relaxed cruise without worrying about what your purchasing, etc. Trust me I have seen all of that as well. I’m not insulted but I will sure as heck rebut that train of thought.
For those that really find the packages a great benefit that’s awesome. I say hip hooray! Everyone should choose what’s best for them. But what some of us who find them not worth our investment may find frustrating is the incessant push from Princess to make people feel they are necessary. Not true for many and if people come here and ask I will share my opinion and personal experience. There is no ill will intended to those who absolutely love them, even if they imply I’m cheap and plan to spiff the crew because I know better and will happily point that out at any opportunity and whenever I choose regardless of how tired anyone is of talking about the subject.
No one is stiffing anyone if you don't take the package. You have two other choices; you can prepay your gratuities or you can have them added automatically to your shipboard account and then pay up at the end of the cruise. In addition, you can hand the crew members who were special to you an envelope with extra tip in them.

You are getting loyalty levels and the different packages confused. You have to get the Premier Package to have Prizes included, or pay extra for it. Whether you are Platinum or Elite level has nothing to do with it.
I understood it just fine. Sorry if you misinterpreted what I was saying. I just asked if we could pay under those circumstances.

Where are you seeing listed differently? Is it on a Princess site? On the Enchanted Princess information page on the Princess web site, it just lists Afternoon Tea as one of the dining options but does not specify the days it is offered so just curious if you could be looking at something that is dated? Afternoon tea was served daily once upon a time, but that has not been the case for awhile now as the ships have transitioned to just serving it on sea days.
I found a list of all Princess dining venues on all ships . . . it listed which ships each venue is on. I know it is current because it has the new restaurant line up for the Enchanted for any sailings starting in April this month. I compared the list to the new deck plans on the Princess site to verify the list was correct. Soooooo . . . this list gives all the days/times/costs etc. for every dining venue. When it came to the Afternoon Tea it gave no specific day, just the time, which then would indicate that it is everyday. I wish I had written down where I found this list. I just wrote down all the info for each venue.

Just of the Discovery & they left a small ad for Princess Prizes in the cabin
It IS included with the premier package otherwise $10 per day
a 7 day cruise for 2 in a balcony room is awarded on EVERY cruise
an EFFY shopping gift certificate & hosted VIP shopping experience with EFFY
Onboard spending money applied directly to you stateroom folio
and this one where your guess is as good as mine....
One of a kind onboard experiences & exclusive opportunities........(?)
So if we are Platinum but not Premium, we can pay $70 to participate in the prizes? And where do we pay this?

It's not everyday. In our experience it will be every sea day at 3 or 3:30 p.m.
That is what I thought too but this ship lists it differently. So it might be ship specific. Plus we only have one sea day on our itinerary to New England/Canada.

My research shows that the Enchanted Princess has afternoon tea on every day of the cruise. But I was wondering if anyone has been on the Enchanted recently and knows if this is true or not.

Depends on when everyone shows up and which port. Last December at San Pedro to board the Sapphire, there was a delay in starting check in. Lines got very long and I heard some passengers say they had over 1 hour waits to pick up medallion. So YMMV.

Princess no longer has you select a ‘Check in’ time. Everyone will get the same check in window of about 10:30-2pm depending on your departure.
Boarding when it commences, will start with wedding groups, then usually suites and elites, then platinum and then the various boarding groups as assigned when you checked in if you are not in one of the above categories l
Thanks. I did find out they have lines now for those who have their medallions, those who have to pick up their Medallions and then the Handicapped line. And they said it goes really quickly.

Does anyone know what the boarding process is these days? If we have Priority boarding, can we arrive anytime? Why would someone already be assigned 12:30pm this far out? We do not have an assigned time and someone else does. And what time does boarding normally open?

MDR will be open about 12-1330. Not sure which one but just go to each one to see if they are open. Do not rely on what the crew says.
The 14.99 will be put on your portfolio to be pad at the end of your cruise along with any other charges you incur.
Thanks so much.

I have seen the times differ between ships but generally either 12:00-1:30 or 11:30-1:00. The earlier time I have only seen on Alaska cruises
We are going to New England and Canada so who knows. But thanks. That helps a lot.

Room service via using the Ocean Now APP if you do not have Plus or Premier, will result in a one time Ocean Now activation fee of $14.99 upon your first Ocean Now order which you will need to acknowledge. Calling room service from your stateroom phone if you do not have Plus or Premier will result in a $5 fee each time you call.
The MDR open for lunch will be stated in the Patter/Event listing, go to Guest services if one is not in your stateroom if you happen to go to stateroom early to drop off luggage.
Thank you!!!

I understand that one MDR is open for lunch on embarkation day. Does anyone know the hours and which MDR? Aso, I believe that you can pay $15.00 for unlimited room service delivery during the cruise. Who do you pay and how? Thank you in advance.

We have no one on the Roll Call for this sailing at all. There must be some people out there sailing with us. Come on over and join. The original people that started the roll call dropped off the cruise. Hope we can find more to join in!!!!

We took the New England Canada cruise last summer, and since it was so port intensive we didn't see a lot of people dress for formal nights. Much younger crowd too and lots of kids due to summer holidays.
Good thing we are going in the fall. Probably more people our age. 🙂

Our cruise will be port intensive and chilly! 🙂

Our recent trip on the Enchanted had 6 formal nights. Shorts were worn at all formal nights in the MDR. Wear what you want. Put a pair of long pants in your luggage just in case you strike a Maitre-D dress zealot that's new and wants to go back to the old days. Otherwise wear what you like and enjoy.
Thanks!

I find the original premise interesting. I was going to say that I have not really noticed a marked difference in formality on any ship or in any region...except the Caribbean. Those tend to be the least formal. But honestly, the difference from ship to ship and itinerary to itinerary can be measured in micrograms.
I do agree but I want my hubby to feel comfortable and fit in. So I ask on his behalf! 🙂

I didn’t find it any less common to see formal wear on our Canada/Greenland cruise than on a Caribbean cruise.
That said, as long as he meets the minimum standards for smart casual dining, he’ll be fine wearing whatever he wants. Thanks!

I never wear a tie even on formal nights in any cruise anymore. For casual I have been known to wear jeans an T shirts. For formal regular slacks or chinos and a Sagittarius with buttons will suffice. No need to go to the buffet
Thanks but may I ask what a Sagittarius is?
Luggage Service
in Princess Cruises

Does the Enchanted Princess participate in the luggage service, where it is picked up outside your cabin door the night before debarkation and you don't see it again until you arrive at your final destination airport? If so, do they work with Southwest Airlines?
