Every day from 4:00 - 5:00 in the Rolling Stone Rock Room and Billboard Bar.  There is also a Happy Hour at 10:00 PM in the Crows Nest.

Here is a link to my photo review of the Koningsdam to get you oriented to the ship:

Thank you. That was extremely helpful. Good to see the wine packages and all the drinks menus.

  2. I was on a P@O cruise in the Caribbean. My husband had bought me a diamond and emerald bracelet as a special birthday present. Wore it for the first time for formal night and it fell off and I had no idea where. Checked everywhere but no one had handed it in. I was absolutely devastated as it cost in excess of $5000 and I hadn't even had it long enough to insure it. The next night we went into the dining room and my husband just happened to mention to the waiter about the bracelet. He went away and came back with it. He had found it under the table but was hanging on to it cos he didn't know which sitting it had been dropped at and was sure the owner would ask about it. I cried my eyes out with joy and the next night we gave him a huge tip!!

On the reverse situation, I had my iphone stolen on a Celebrity cruise and never got it back.

  3. My wife and I are on the same ship and just booked a tour with them a few days ago. Haven't used them before but they got right back to me and answered all my questions and don't require any money up front when you book so I feel O.K. with them.

We just had a great tour with GV tours in Puerto Montt. Visited Puerto Varas and the Petrohue falls. wonderful views of the Osorno Volcano. Lovely 3 course lunch with wine. A word of warning the roads to the falls are under repair with single line traffic controlled by traffic lights. This can add an hour each way to the journey and because our last tender was 4.15pm we were not able to go to Fruitiller.

  4. Hi,

My wife and I will be coming to the Falklands on the Golden Princess on March 7th and we would desperately love to go to Volunteer Point, but it seems as if everyone - literally everyone - is booked.

    Any suggestions???

Just returned from Patrick Watts trip. He accommodated friends of ours on the pier side on the day. There are usually cancellations because people double book tours to guarantee the best. His tour was the best tour we have ever taken. Get the first tender off.

  5. x4. Shared the ride with KirkNC last week. I agree that Patrick Watts one of the best excursions I've ever done. Need to do it again! Love me some penguins...

Another vote for Patricks tour. Best ever tour taken. Wonderful guide. Just loved the Falkland Islands.

  6. I can see them not wanting to get too many variations on the offer. It is good that they allow you to request which type of mini alcohol bottles and soda will be in the mini bar once you are on board.

I don't see Rum on the list of mini bar default contents though. Really, the Caribbean is a major area serviced by the cruise industry but no Rum in the mini bar? I am hoping that Rum will be an option once on board.

The ability to swap out the mini bar for two coffee cards is a nice option and since the coffee cards can carry over to future cruises, as you mentioned, you will be able to have both on your next cruise. I would have thought that swapping for two coffee cards would be similar to two bottles of wine though yet you only get one in that swap.

We were able to get Bacardi rum on our last cruise. Our room steward changed all the other liquor for Bacardi.

  7. We have booked cabin 1638 on Celebrity Eclipse any one have any comments or experience with this cabin while we can still change cabins?[/quote

This cabin is fine as there are cabins above and below. We have been in the one next door. Totally avoid cabin no's 1547 and 1549 on the hump. We had these and they are above the aquaspa cafe and at 4am every morning there was banging and chair dragging when the staff were getting organised for breakfast. Complained but got nowhere.

  8. I surely hope those who have experienced a very poor guide reported this to Ramses to spare those of us who follow from getting the same subpar experience. That's what I would do.

I did report this to Ramses and got a very apologetic reply offering us a refund and stating that he had telephoned the guide and told her that her services were no longer required. He also stated that since my comment on Cruise critics he had had lots of cancellations and would I delete my comment!! Bit difficult to know how to reply to that one.

Despite this I still feel that if you get the correct guide this company is to be recommended. Other people can confirm this and I think there are more good reports than bad.

  9. We just arrived back from Celebrity Equinox and did a one day tour with 4 people with Ramses. We were disappointed with the guide after all the good reports on this site. Her english was poor, she hardly spoke the whole way to Cairo and not at all on the way back. She never pointed out any sights at all. She did explain things briefly at the museum and the pyramids but we kept asking her to repeat it as we couldn't understand. We only had 2 minutes to take a photo from the road of the sphynx because she had forgotten it closed early that day. We had requested to do a Felucca ride but they hadn't booked this and they were all completely full. All in all a bit of a disaster. I'm sure this was an isolated case as other people on the cruise had excellent trips with Ramses.
