  1. Hi! looking for a captain that will take us out for a few hours. Our cruise just added Nassau as a stop and barring any more changes - we will be in port on the 24th from 7-2.

Most of what I’m finding are boats that want to do a trip to Rose Island for a few hours, or swimming with pigs and things like that that we really don’t care for.

There’s 4 of us and we are more just looking for someone to take us out for a cruise for a few hours, maybe find a nice sandbar to hang and swim.

I found one but he wants $1200 for the half day. Trying to see what else is out there. Is there an area we could head to that day and find people willing to take you out? Anyone have recommendations? Thank you!

It could happen on your cruise but doesn't have to. Multiple things are at play here, some staff had Covid, we are very low occupancy and it was a port day. I can see why they took the opportunity to take a 40-hour break so staff can rest and they can reset their entire operations.

Thank you so much for your continued updates. Keep them coming. We are on the 1/23 sailing and really want to go!!

Just want to say - I’m on Edge right now and it has been an AMAZING cruise so far and I don’t regret booking at all.  We have free run of the whole ship - such an interesting experience!

This makes me so happy to hear. Thank you so much for posting. We are on the 1/23 sailing and really trying to hold on to hope here! Keep us posted if you wouldn’t mind!

  4. We will be coming in on Celebrity Edge to San Juan on Tuesday, January 25th. The ship is docked until 11pm so we would love to go out for dinner and hear some live music! I know a Tuesday can be tough so hoping for some recommendations on where we may find some music and dancing.

    Thank you!

I'm on the same sailing. I am not going to pay the balance if they require it at the end of August. I will cancel right before the due date. Hopefully they change this payment requirement considering it looks like there is a slim chance this cruise will even sail.

couldn’t agree more sadly. Did you pay the same $750 deposit?  That will remain as FCC from what I understand, correct?

  6. My final payment for our 12/27 sailing is coming up. I’m very very frustrated that they pushed final payments to 60 days for sailings up to 12/16 - so my sailing misses that cut off and is still at 120 days.

I also don’t want to make my final payment and then have them hold on to my money for who knows how long with a FCC - if it’s canceled.

Anyone else on the holiday sailings with this issue? What have you decided to do?

  7. We are visiting on a Tuesday night in March, coming in on the Celebrity Edge.  I think we are going to do dinner/flamenco show at Triana - where would you recommend for fun bars?  Live music? We are in our early 30s and would love to find some authentic lively bars/live music, but also trying to set our expectations realistically as its a Tuesday night.

  8. Jumping on this post as we will be in San Juan in March and in port from 3:30-11:00pm, we did Punto de Vista last time so we are looking for something else this time.  Would love to try and pair it with somewhere we can do live music that night too, it's a Tuesday night.  Any opinions or suggestions?  We are willing to go outside of OSJ, actually may prefer it since we haven't been before.  Thank you!!

Yay!  Which type of sky suite did you book?

We convinced our friends to come and each booked S3 Sky Suites.  We booked 7200 and 7204, keeping in mind what you had recommended about the decks with the magic carpet.   I couldn't find any direct feedback on these specific cabins, but thank you so much for all of your help!  Any words of wisdom?  We switched to the 3/22/20 sailing.

Now I'm starting to wonder if there are any old Eastern Caribbean Daily Planners out there...just curious which nights were Chic nights and wanted to get an idea of the activities, knowing some things will change once it comes back from the Med.  I could only find from inaugural sailing.  Any chance you know where I can find those?

  10. Hubby just reminded me the week in April I was looking is Masters week so that's a no go!  We are now looking at March 8th or 22nd sailing, plus it's cheaper for the Sky Suite and more availability for S3 - so thats a win!

Looks like there's a group on the 3/22 sailing...some googling says it could be a Singles Cruise.  Any way to see how many rooms they have booked?  Any experience on how this would impact.  If it's a large group could be odd...

The magic Carpet rails will impact your view to the sides on the S3's, but they still have a nice view overall. I would stay away from deck 12 for sure (there have been some noise issues in a couple of them - banging above). Both deck 11 and deck 12 have a big overhang with spikes hanging down when Magic Carpet is on 14. Deck 6 has the Magic Carpet impacting Deck 6 when it is on Deck 5. If I chose an S3, I would go with deck 8, 9, 10 and take an outside one to have the window on the balcony, though the inside ones are nice too. It looks like for the 4/5/20 cruise only the two inside Deck 6 S3's are available?

I personally would choose an S2 for $300 more total and have the bed facing the ocean and the window/mirror in bathroom. 10117 is available and has a firewall on one side (quieter) and no pole on the balcony. You would be close to stairs and elevators to easily go up to Luminae, The Retreat Lounge and Retreat Sundeck. The balconies are only 80 sq ft for the S2's but they do fit 2 loungers (the S3's are 103 sq ft and S1 afts 163). I find the living area and bathroom set up the best in the S2's and S1 port and starboards of all the Sky Suites on the Edge (I have stayed in an S1 portside and an S1 aft and have seen S2's and S3's). The aft S1's have a balcony twice the size and have the great aft view, but are more expensive and further from the action (which may be an advantage for some). There are pictures of each in the thread.

You are too helpful.  Thank you!

If you are thinking of booking a Sky Suite, you might want to look at this thread (and it outlines other benefits of the suite life). There are 4 types of Sky Suites, S1 aft, S1 port and starboard, S2 (exactly the same setup as the port and starboard S1's, but not as midship or lower decks, hence the small price difference) and S3's inside the Magic Carpet (they are the most reasonable, but need to be chosen carefully, IMO). If you have any questions, please ask.

Thank you!  I will read through all of this right now.  As you suspected, the most attractive I am getting right now is for S3 so I will look at the spreadsheet when picking if I go that direction.

Any major pointers you would have with the S3s while I look?

One thing, if you love good restaurants and if you can afford it I recommend getting at least a sky suite so that you can eat at the Luminae. I don't know about the edge, but one on the Solstice was probably the best restaurant we ever visited on land or sea. It spoiled us, from now on we will only book suites, but just have to save up a bit more between cruises. We go for he Sky suites, they are a little bigger than a regular balcony room and you get lots of extras including a better room service menu. We had room service for breakfast every day, and midnight burger binges almost every night 🙂

Thank you - you must have read my mind.  I am definitely eyeing a Sky Suite...it's a big jump from the SV but I think we would really appreciate the extras.

The 7 night Eastern  itin was really a good one for us.  We enjoyed returning to some fav ports...although Tortola and St Maarten  are still in the process of  coming back from hurricane damage!  Much as we enjoyed AQ Class and our Inf Veranda cabin, we are excited about trying the Sunset Veranda in EDGE and APEX.

If you have already  booked your cruise,  I rec booking your  mdr reservations  as soon as possible if you are in Select dining.. You will get your preferred times  in each of the 4 mdrs,. You can also book the most popular specialty restaurants ahead if you have a special night in mind. Fine Cut and EDEN do fill up...as will Dinner on the EDGE ( on the Magic Carpet).

The spa services were wonderful...maybe consider a thermal suite pass.

    Enjoy!

    Amazing, thank you so much!
