Any recent updates for Mazatlan? I am trying to figure out what to do, but I am having a hard time finding current info since this destination hasn't seen a lot of cruise traffic in the past couple years.
Anything you can add regarding hotels allowing cruise passengers in the pool area, beach-side restaurant & bar reviews, must-sees, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I'm glad I caught this thread. I hadn't thought to bring it, but in the right company, the game is a riot. Not literally, of course. :) Will have my friend bring it along on our next cruise and see what happens.

Believe me, we are cheering them on but Mexico is still a 3rd world country in many ways. Even in LA it took 6 months to recover completely after the earthquake in 1994.
I understand what you're saying, but Mexico is not a "3rd world country in many ways." Their infrastructure isn't what you are accustomed to, but it is no where near a true 3rd world country. There is a difference, and I am just pointing it out.

I would love not to have to take the life jacket to the muster station. On my first cruise I tripped on my life jacket going down the stairs and spent the remainder of the cruise icing my blown up knee. I still have flashbacks every muster.

Hi there. I'm on the same cruise as you. And yes, I am mainly concerned about visiting Cabo. I understand they're working hard to recover from the hurricane, and as an area that relies heavily on touristic travel, they need to recover quickly. Sadly, I don't think many who live there will rebound as well but at least the businesses should be up and running.
However, I am not sure that I want to experience Cabo so soon after the tragedy. Depending on the reports from others who visit in the next week, I may not disembark while in port or may spend less time than I originally planned. I guess it's a wait and see situation for me.

Thanks much- appreciate the detailed update! I'm glad to hear that Cabo is starting to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Odile.

Thanks all! I agree with your thoughts about going to a hotel pool. If I wanted to sit by the pool and order drinks, Princess is more than happy to accommodate me.
I really like the idea of going to the Centro Mercado, visiting the Church and then heading to Stone Island for some beach-y eats and drinks.
As always, you guys are so helpful! :)
