One of the best tours we've done was the Halifax Historical Titanic Tour we did with Paul McNeill.
Amazing tour with Paul.
Good to hear. We have a tour with him next month that we are very much looking forward to.

Will be on Princess cruise from New York to Quebec this September. Looking for any suggestions or recommendations for a lobster dinner or lunch in any of the ports that we will visit on this cruise. Have done this cruise before but never had the dinner experience.
Mike
Mike, you don't say what ports you will be visiting? I live on Cape Cod in MA, and while our lobsters are good--they don't compare to the lobster in ME. IMHO, the colder the water the better the lobster. Enjoy!

No worries, I understood that princeton123211 was referring to Quebec City and not Saguenay in the above response. I was under the impression that most of Saguenay speaks French with little English, thank you for confirming that GTJ.

We usually just do Quebec on our own since it's easy to just walk pretty much everywhere. We did a bunch of years ago (this was prob 2017) use a company called Tours Voir Quebec which did a private guided walking tour which was quite good. I did a little googling and it looks like they are still in business.
I wouldn't worry about English speaking-- if you see a tour you like researching book it. Virtually everyone in Quebec is bilingual and will quickly pivot to English when you engage with them.
Thank you princeton123211. We will be in Quebec City for two days and do plan to tour the city on our own one day, but would like a tour outside of the city to see Montmorency Falls, St-Anne Canyon, and Lac-Beauport lake and maybe some villages in the countryside on the other day. Good to know that language will not be a problem for us in Quebec City.

Sorry but we are visiting it next month with the Cunard Line and they are organized tours at those ports.
As does Oceania. However, we prefer small private groups of 6-8 persons vs. large ship tours. Just a matter of personal preference. Enjoy your trip!

Does anyone have any experience using NY City Limo? I am considering them for transport from JFK International Airport to our hotel in lower Manhattan and again from our hotel to the Manhattan cruise terminal.

We are new to Silverseas. Any advice/insight as to the best Silver Suites on decks 10 or 11 on Silver Dawn would be greatly appreciated. Is there any type of overhang on deck 11?

Thank you!

worthy of note is that the Lobster fishing had been poor in the last year and prices have soared so consider that. Used to be you could get 2 lobsters corn, a tater and roll for $24. Checked last week at is was 1 lobster So the economics of to day 2022 might need to be considered Purchase by the ship might be much more limited.... By the way.... Best prices and meals in Maine are Portland ME ( the porthole ) And Bar Harbor area Ruth and Wimpies)
Thank you Hawaiidan for the recommendations. This cruise is not stopping in ME, but we are from Cape Cod and frequently go to ME. While our lobsters here on the Cape are good, they are much better in ME and we are looking forward to trying them further north. I agree about the price of lobster (and everything else) we have not purchased any since early September.

I also recently retired and am loving it--no idea how I ever found time to work... Enjoy your April cruise---it will be so amazingly wonderful to be back cruising again! Roseann

On a cruise with O we did indeed get fresh lobsters in Bar Harbour (about 7 yrs ago), hopefully you will dock there as well.
All of the guests who had the lobster ashore were amazed and said they wished they had waited.
This was late May and it does have to be lobster season.
Thank you cswhistler. We are not going to Bar Harbour but I know from experience how good ME lobsters are!

Our cruise 5 or so years ago which included some Nova Scotia ports as well as Bar Harbor, Maine, had a lobster extravaganza one night, but it was in Bar Harbor, not Nova Scotia. I don't recall there being local lobsters brought aboard in Nova Scotia.
Thank you avalong!

Thank you Jan! Hope you are doing well. Shari is taking good care of us. We are on Oceania Insignia NYC to Montreal in September on the Jacques Pepin Luminary Cruise--so I am sure the food will be fabulous.

Thank you. This is helpful.

For those of you who have done Oceania cruises that include Nova Scotia ports, are fresh local lobsters usually on the menu in the dining room or specialty restaurants?

Thanks Jan!
