My friend and I tried Moderno on this last cruise on the Pearl. I'm in the 'save your money' group. The salad bar was ok, the dessert menu was a huge disappointment. And the meat was ok, except for the chicken -it was under cooked. I took one bite and realize it, but my friend almost had eaten half of it. Yep! She got food poisoning. At least it was at the tail end of our cruise. So no more Moderno for me!

I will be glad to read your reports on the cruise (if you would be so kind to do so). I am assuming both will be out of New Orleans as I think that Pearl is there for the season.

I am also reading quite mixed reviews of Harvest Caye, one of the stops. From being so very expensive to being a poor beach with coarse sand and sea shells. You opinions on that would be appreciated as well.

I was just on the Pearl last month first one out of New Orleans. Great ship, no New Orleans theme. Harvest Caye, I can see where people complain. I am a beach lover! I have no complaints about the sand or seating. Plenty of room in the beach part. My friend and I split Nachos which was about $10 plus tip, but the server took our order and delivered it right to our beach lounge! I guess people would say it's expensive if you haven't paid for a meal in a few days and you thought it was a private island (and anyone who feels entitled). But it's time to get over that; that ship has sailed (pun intended). Enjoy!

I just traveled on the Pearl a few weeks ago and my friend is Platinum and I'm not. She had no problems, just said we were traveling together. Hope that helps! Have a great trip.

I’mjust a week away from leaving on my first vacation in 6 years since I took inmy (now 7yr) nephew and (now 4 yr) niece. Though I beyond excited to get away, I’ve never left them for more thanovernight before. So just wondering if anyone used WhatsApp to keep in contactwith family while cruising? How well didit work? I'll be cruising the Western Caribbean.
