We were on that cruise, had a great time in spite of my husband and I returning with Covid. No regrets!

We are also sailing Escape Haven Jan 14-21. Have not received anything as of yet,

We are sailing with our son daughter in law and three grandchildren on the Oasis March, 2024. When I booked I asked about gf as two of my grandchildren have Celiac. I was told upon booking that the Oasis has a separate gf kitchen and just about anything could be made upon request.

I was on the Norway in 1992. The grand Midnight Buffet on the last night was like no other!

See you onboard! In the Renaissance drinking coffee and anxiously awaiting to go to the port!

I’m on the January 19th sailing. I wonder if the cabins will be ready earlier since no one is disembarking that day.

Is there a problem putting the medallions in carry on luggage? I wonder if TSA will confiscate them
-
It took me a few tries with the first passport I scanned. Place the bottom numbers on the passport under the grey strip on the medallion scanner and hold it. When it shows green it’s scanning. It will say scan successful.

I just booked on the Dawn for the Aug 10 sailing. We have four adults and two children in a two bedroom suite with an adjoining mini suite. We have the free at sea dining package and I was curious if I could upgrade that to a four or five day package paying the difference of course. I’m Diamond with RCI but never sailed NCL so I’m not sure if there’s any flexibility.

When my iPad was new I would lock it up, I'm on my second one since they came out, now they are more common. What would worry me is someone able to get personal info from it but I believe iPads can now be located if you turn on the setting Find My IPad.

I just made my final payment for a May 4 sailing in a GS. I looked online and there are only a handful left. I have no doubt these cabins will sell, my experience with booking a month or two out on other lines is the larger cabins sell out first.
-
I was looking to see if they went, hope all made it! We're sailing May 4 so I've been interested in the posts.

I apologize if there's a rule about bumping older threads. We wanted to book a local cruise for May and booked the 8 day Splendor out of NY in a GS. RCCL's Explorer was a 9 day but the price difference was over $2000 and the Explorer is an older ship. We're Platinum with RCCL and most of the perks are because of past passenger status. We sailed in a suite on Princess, our one and only cruise on that line and we had the most perks. We loved free unlimited laundry! the itinerary and price of the Splendor is. What closed the deal, not the extras that many lines provide, they are all built into the cost of the cruise.

How do they determine which dining room you're assigned to? All it says on my receipt is early seating.

Totally agree. We have had a rocky two years and I am so happy that no matter what we can afford a cruise and spend time with, family, friends, each other and New people that we meet on board. Totally agree with not having to pick up. I am up vacation to have fun.
LWiening, I agree. DH has had six spine surgeries in the last three years and wherever it go, whatever I do I'm going to enjoy. We just went on a land vacay and Splendor in 88 days. The last cruise was on the Oasis in between his surgeries in January 2012. I was told this is a notch down but who cares! We're Platinum with RCCL and haven't been on Carnival since 1999 but I'm looking forward to a different experience!

We've cruised with children of all ages, currently I'm looking at a cruise with AC and GC. You can monitor their spending on the TV, DH and I have done this and the kids were aware if they went over their limit they would be paying.

If available for your sailing, you can purchase it anytime after you book your cruise. You do not have to be paid in full. We purchased our FTTF 2 days after we paid deposit to book our cruise.....
I put a deposit on a cruise Wed and purchase FTTF yesterday as an excursion. My balance is not due until 2/18 for a 5/4 sailing. They posted there were only nine tickets left.
-
They should have let young children on first in this case.

Thank you so much. We're going on the May 4 cruise and this is getting me excited. One of the pluses of going on a CL you haven's sailed in 15 years is the unknown!
-
It would have taken me far fewer times on a cruise line to realize its time to try something else.
-
I just purchased the FTTF, it would be nice when asked if customer service could give you the correct info. As with everything else, you have to be your own advocate.
-
I just called and the rep in charge of my booking said it's for everything. I've not seen it anywhere on the Carnival site what it covers.
-
Do suite guests get priority boarding if they don't purchase FTTF? I've not sailed Carnival for 15 years but the other cruise lines do get it.

I sent two separate reservations in this morning for May 5 and May 10 on the Splendor and heard back for one already.

I took my Dyson hair dryer on the Escape in January and twice I blew out he power in the room! I’m going to purchase a dryer with an automatic converter for my Joy cruise in August.
