  1. I had a friend go there in Jan of this year, i had asked her to bring me back a conch shell with a carving in it, I payed her $150.00 for it. She said there were other ones that had more carvings on them which were going for $500.00, they may of been the ones that are made into lamps. They are absolutely lovely. I had seen them when we were there in 2007 but didn't get the opportunity to purchase one then. They have a small hole in the bottom were you can put a small battery operated light for illumination.

  2. I have been to Roatan and have a friend going in January. I would love to have her bring me back one of the larger shells that have a scene carved into it, I think it was from the stonecastle factory. Does anyone know how much these are priced at? would like to give her some money to cover the cost. Thanks

  3. The post from embracedbylife is correct in the respect that you get more beach time if you take the water taxi. The only problem with that is that we were warned by staff from the cruise ship that if the water taxi is not full they don't always go back when they are scheduled to. Because of this you could possible miss the ship. It was fun going on the Samur sail but I don't think we would do it again, getting up from the dingy to the Samur was really not that bad but don't think I would feel the same way if it was rough. Klein Bonaire is incredible, the snorkling is great and such a varity of beautiful fish.

  4. We went on our cruise in March out of New York city and stayed 3 days before leaving at the Amsterdam Court just around the corner from Times Square. When we returned we were off the ship around 10am and our flight didn't leave until 11:20 pm so we arranged to drop off our luggage to the same hotel for the day (free) and we toured the city until 6pm, picked up our luggage and went to the airport. It was a great option:)
