  1. Supposedly both Oasis and Allure are scheduled to get the new 03b high-speed/broadband Internet service very soon.

While they are not the fastest in the world, they are touted to be 10 -12 times faster than current onboard WIFI. We should be hearing reports from cruisers on the new service within the next 30-60 days.

We were able to test that new hi speed wifi out on the oasis in March and if can handle the traffic the speeds on it we're much more than 10-12 times faster. Close to broadband. Caveat there was only a dozen or so people beta testing it so there wasn't much strain on it. I personally can't wait until it gets implemented through the entire RCCL Fleet.

  2. We just returned last week from a two week trip which included two airport transfers and two day trips with Romeinlimo.

All transfers and tours were for my family of 5. My husband and I, and three daughters ages 11, 15, 18.

Transfers to/from FCO to Rome hotel... Perfect! Driver was waiting for us with sign upon arrival at FCO. On return, we asked for pick up at 4:00pm. Driver arrived at 3:55 and we were loaded and on the road at 3:59. We appreciated the prompt and reliable serivice.

Livorno/Florence/Pisa... Our driver, Vinny, was great! We packed a lot into our day with a stop at Pisa, on to a visit to sample wine in Tuscany, a stop in Florence and then a stop in San Gimignano. We wish we could have spent a lot more time in each spot, but Vinny did a great job keeping us on schedule to make sure we saw the highlights and we got back to the ship in plenty of time.

Naples/Sorrento/Positino/Pompeii... This was my daughter's 18th birthday and we had Tony as our fabulous driver. Tony had provided water for us and some special snacks from Sorrento which was so nice of him. He also picked up some grapes for us to try. We traveled to Sorrento for the "Pizza School". It was a lot of fun and really great food. We thought that the actual pizza experience was a little too expensive, but we were still glad that we did it. Tony had arranged for them to bring my daughter a birthday cake which was really so very much appreciated! We enjoyed walking around Sorrento. We then traveled to Positino. A very beautiful drive and we enjoyed walking down to the beach. Our favorite stop was last and was Pompeii. Romeinlimo had arranged a private guide for us, Carmine. He was fabulous and was the best 100 euros we spent. We all loved the tour of Pompeii and could have spent hours more learning and exploring the site. Tony also kept us right on schedule!

With so much to see and do in a fixed amount of time, both of our drivers, Vinny and Tony, were so good at listening to us on what were the most important things for us to accomplish in our day. While keeping us on schedule, we never felt rushed. They were both very professional and answered all of our questions. It was fun learning a bit about both of our drivers. Tony is expecting his second baby girl this fall and we wish him and his family well! While talking with Tony on the way back to the port, he said something that I find worthy of passing along to anyone considering using Romeinlimo. He said he had been with the company for three years and expressed what a good company they were to work for. He said he felt that they took very good care of their drivers. As an employer myself, that was a great thing to hear!

  3. Hi!

We had #9394 on Navigator this summer!!! We have sailed in the Owners, Grand, Junior and even the Royal Suite. I will tell you that this was my favorite cabin of all! The balcony was heaven on earth. There is a ton of storage space! We had six in the room and had plenty of room.

The pictures on the previous post are exactly like #9394 on Navigator, but just everything is flipped.

Let me know if you have any questions, but most of all look forward to your trip and Enjoy!!

  4. Our family also visited Playa Uvas last week and we loved it! We arrived very early because day light savings time put us two hours ahead of island time. They were so nice to us and quickly made chairs available and took our lunch order. We enjoyed the beach and then had a great kayak trip and snorkeling trip. When we returned from snorkeling our lunch was ready and served to us. They were so kind and attentive to our group of 14. Everything that they said they would do, they did. We only wish we could have spent more time there. The place was busy, but not overcrowded. I really appreciated that they didn't oversell the day. I would go there again in a heartbeat!

  5. Javamama,

We have a group of 14 going. Having been on this trip, do you think that we will all be together or will they split us up? I read somewhere that their boat and bus hold 10.

    Thanks again for your input.

  6. JAVAMAMA!

Thanks so much for the review. We are signed up to do this with the same company in a couple of weeks. It was great to hear that you made it back to the ship on time!!

Question... How many people were in your group?

  7. I totally agree about booking through the ship, but RCCL doesn't offer this excursion. We would gladly pay more to do this through the ship. We have a group of 15 and we even tried to get them to set one up for us, but it must not have been enough to be worth their while. We will be on the first tender and be very aware of our timing. That is why I so appreciate positive reviews.

  8. Thanks again for your input. We have booked this excursion and we are to be there from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm ship time. We will have priority tendering and should be on the first tender. We are to meet them at the dock at 8:20 am Belize time. It looks like we will have the same amount of time that you did while in Belize. I know that I will be a nervous wreck the whole day, but we really want to go on this trip. I have contacted belizeexcursions and they have tried to reassure me that missing the ship is not an option. They e-mailed me back saying they had back up busses and boats. I doubt that, but at least they know the right things to say. :)

    Looking forward to more reviews!

  9. DonMar!

Thanks so much for your review!

Questions for you... What ship were you on? What was your ships scheduled time in port? What time did you leave your ship that morning and what time did you get on the tender back to the ship?

    Thanks so much!

  10. We are considering this tour for March also. The timing looks to be tight so it was nice to hear that you had a good experience. You said that there were 8 in your group, did you all fit in one boat? How long were you actually at the ruins? Adding up the time it looks like it is two hours to get to the ruins and two hours to get back. I contacted Royal Caribbean as to why they don't offer this excursion anymore. They stated that it was because of lack of interest. It seems like one of the best ways to see some very remote ruins. Would love to hear of others who have taken this excursion.
