  1. I would highly recommend if you are going on a cruise to join the meet and greet group. Our group did a meet and greet, 2 pub crawls and a cabin crawl. We met some fantastic people that quickly became friends. Even though most of our group was travelling with family we soon found compatible groups to hang with. It was also a great way to see the ship and enjoy some of the entertainment with friends.

  2. Just a quick note to let you know that the Jewel had a great special dietary needs service. Our daughter was assigned a special server who met with her the first day to go over her needs. He then met with her each night and would take her menu order for the next day. He was available to her where ever she ate be it the main dinning rooms or specialty dining. She would tell the regular server to get him and he would show up and serve her. The ship has a seperat kitchen for the special diet needs so there is no cross contamination that might happen in the main kitchens. I can't say enough good things about NCL and the Jewel when it comes to this level of service.

Keep up the great review 3Kids it is bringing back great memories of new friends and a wonderful vacation.

  3. The Haven suites are all midship on the Jewel Class vessels -- so I don't have an answer for you with regards to the forward suites. The Haven balcony's are sort of recessed a bit, and unless you are right up at the railing, you can enjoy them even while sailing.

Klaus the hotel director told us that the Spinaker lounge on some of the ships had been converted to Haven suites and that the Spinaker was moved to where the shops are on the Jewel. Not sure where the shops moved to. Perhaps that is what the OP was referring to.

  4. Glad to hear I am now one or your peeps. LOL I am enjoying your review it is bringing back lots of good memories of new and good friends and a great trip. I would have to agree with you so far that the food was mediocre and the service spotty. However this did not deter from a great cruise. We didn't do many meals in the specialty restaurants so won't comment on them. O'Sheehans was the best and was a good place to hang out when the weather wasn't great. I will chime in with any thoughts I might have when I am reading your review.

  5. We have taken advantage twice when the cruise price dropped on our upcoming cruise. The last time the day before final payment was due. We were also told that if it drops further we can get an upgrade if one is available. So I will keep check for further price drops.

  6. We don't sail until January on the Jewell. Now I wish we were going tomorrow. Thanks for all the pics they were great. Jenseib your review of the Jewell is great as well. Just saw that you posted here as well. Thanks for more great pics.
