  1. Yep, this is not starting out well. I could understand an "issue", but there is nothing else going on. Just a dead ship tied to the pier. I would get off and stay in town if the brow/gangplank was in place.

Hopefully they get some entertainment or something going.

I was on MoTS....passengers WERE allowed to get off the ship on Monday and didn't have to return until noon ( at least around that time...not sure exactly) on Tuesday.

  2. You can order the appetizers as your main course. A lot of the appetizers are just smaller portions of a main course dish. The waiters will certainly ask if there was something wrong with your meal if it doesn't look like you have eaten much....not a problem, they will just want to be sure that you enjoy your meal. As stated above, let them know in advance about small portions, avoid the bread and take small bites. Enjoy!

  3. We were on the Glory about 5 years ago or so and when we received one of our pieces of luggage, it was very obvious that a fork lift tine had ripped through one of our bags. I went to guest services and they immediately told me that either we or they could find a replacement bag in St. Thomas. We let them shop for it so we didn't have to waste our time. By the time we got back on the ship, it was in our stateroom! That has been the one and only luggage problem in 12-13 cruises.

  4. I have been on both...actually have been on the Glory twice and I prefer the Conquest. No particular reason but I do. With that being said, choose the better deal with the itinerary you prefer. Love all the 'Conquest Class' ships...definitely my favorite class ships!

  5. I have been booking group cruises for over 5 years and it has never been a 'free cabin'. It is a 'free' cruise fare for every 8 cabins booked. This cruise fare does not include taxes and port charges which are charged on the original booked cruise fare. What has changed is how Carnival bases the 'free' cruise fare. It used to be on the category of cabin of which was the most booked. The past couple of years and most recently (we just booked another group cruise for Jan. 2015 a couple of weeks ago) it has been based on the average price of all categories of cabins booked. My experience has been that this comes out to about 1/2 of one persons cruise fare. We do receive amenity points with which each cabin receives on board credit. It has only been in the past two years that we have been able to book early saver and receive price drops.

All this being said, I really think it depends on the TA or PVP as to what information you receive!

  6. We sailed out of NO on the Conquest in January 2013. It was a great experience! It was dark for most of the trip but it was January and I expected it to be dark...but there were no refinery smells at all!

Also, if you happen to be by a window, on deck or your balcony when another cruise ship passes by in the opposite direction, all I can say is... WOW!:D

We will sail out of NO again at a time when it is daylight longer in the evening!

  7. We absolutely look forward to the new and improved party!!! Won't repeat what many have already said about the drinks and d'oeuvres (soooo improved). The only thing about the party that we don't like is the time the party is scheduled for - around 4:00pm or so - hard to get ready to "go to a party" - but we manage:D

We were on the Dream a couple of weeks ago and our Past Guest Party was on the last port day (Costa Maya) at 3-3:30! Needless to say we didn't make it!

  8. The Dream is a very nice ship but I prefer the Conquest Class ship since they are not quite as large. That being said, we just got off the Dream this past Saturday (Feb. 8th). The embarking & debarking is very easy...but we are platinum cruisers and get early on/early off. I think it is very easy for all cruisers! Have fun!

  9. First decide what type of cabin you prefer. Then, to me, the most important thing in choosing a cabin is what is located above and below.

You don't want to be located below the Lido deck area where chairs are moved around constantly or above/below or one of the late night nightclubs or any high traffic area.

Also, the lower decks forward and aft can be noisy due to waves banging on the bow, the anchor being lowered/raised and engine noise.

Just some of the things I take into consideration!
