Sorry in my delay in reporting about this tour. It was our favorite day on our cruise and the tour was wonderful! Our West End tour was a little different as on that day they had already promised a family the 8 hour tour (no longer offered) so we were able to hop on that tour. The person meeting us at the port was super friendly as was the bus driver and tour guide. Our stops included lunch and:
Porto Marie- Beautiful beach
Casa abo- stunning beach
Shete boka- Loved this stop for the views and waves crashing
Playa piskado
Playa forti- my son was daring enough to jump off this cliff!
Playa knip- another beautiful beach
Flamingo stop- Flamingos weren't cooperating that day and ran away from us when we stopped!
The beaches are about 40 min away from the ports and off the beaten path. So glad we had the tour bus to take us there and think of everything. They also had snorkeling gear to use. Bottom line I HIGHLY recommend this tour. My family loved Curacao so much we want to return. My kids loved the snorkeling at the beaches. One bit of advice I have. Make sure you bring water shoes. We didn't have them and the beaches are unfortunately very rocky and it was painful to get into the water.

This is a great thread! We'll be in St. Thomas in October, docking at Havensight. Does anyone know the current taxi cost to Sapphire beach? Thanks!
Not sure where we docked but it was $11pp each way to Sapphire beach

Thinking of trying El Jiberito and was wondering if you recall if they had any American food options in the menu?
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
No they don't have any American options. We did go back here. Food was good, but not as great as it was two years ago.

How many are in your group? And just curious, did you fall into the same category as us....had booked it
and then they had "shortened and changed" the West Side tour to not include lunch?
4 of us, my son is almost 14, daughter 17. I wanted to book the 6 hour West side tour but was told the only West side tour they would offer that day was the 8 hour tour that someone had booked before they changed things to offering the 6 hour tour. Since my kids wanted to do the cliff jumping I told them I would do the 8 hour tour, but honestly wonder if it will be too long of a day?

We are doing the 8 hour tour next week. We booked it quite awhile ago. It is my understanding that the 6 hour tour is very similar but does not include lunch. We were told that since we booked the tour prior to their changing it, that we will be doing it with lunch. Received a confirmation of this late last week.
I will report back what we thought when we return. There will be 5 of us. Mom, Dad and 3 teenage boys 14, 17, 19.
We are on the 8 hour tour next week too!

If you all have iPhones, you can use iMessage. Put the phones in Airplane Mode and then turn on WiFi. This will avoid cell carrier charges.
Thank you! Do you know if you can facetime?

Hi everyone,
This trip we are buying the internet package. We all have Iphones and Verizon. How do you all utilize communication with each other on board with your phones? Can we use IMessage or do we have to use an app like What's app? Just hoping to be able to text with my kids when we aren't together and don't want to get a huge bill by accident. Thank you

Also looking for recent information/review of the 6 hour West time tour?
I am going to take it next week. I can report back how it was.

Most of the time, if you have the package, they don't even bother giving you a slip. They just take your card, charge it, and deliver the card and drink to you.
Thank you!

Thank you so much!

The porters seem to be satisfied when I give them $5. If you don't tip they will be sure to remind you, and you can tell from their face if your tip is too low.
The beverage package already includes tips but you will be given a slip to sign where you can leave additional tip.
Thank you! Does it seem like most people give additional tips?

Hi- Leaving in a week on Adventure. Its been 2 years since I've cruised and I forget certain things :-)
How much do you tip the porters?
In the beverage package are tips included when you go get a drink from the bar?
Is there still karaoke every night in the Schooner bar?
Thank you all!

Hi- Sailing in a week on Adventure. My daughter will need internet access daily for an online course she is taking. We have already bought the internet access. Can anyone tell me how connecting has been? Also, is there a quiet place on board where she can set up her laptop and work? Thank you so much!

Hi- Heading on Adventure on the 22nd... is it still prohibited to bring sea shells back on the boat? We will be in St. Thomas, St Kitts, Curacao, and Aruba. Thank you

We enjoy Cafe Mallorca or La Bombonera for breakfast and the Parrot Club for lunch or dinner.
Much appreciated!

I believe approx $18.00 and no more than 10-15 min....Taxi's lined up right outside the Sheraton door..bell hop assist's and will even ask if you want to share a taxi and split the cost.
Thank you so much!

Hi- Staying at the Sheraton Old San Juan. Last trip we ate at El Jiberito which we really enjoyed. Wondering if there is another authentic place to eat or should we just stick to this place. Thank you
-
Hi- Has anyone done this tour recently? I was wondering also how long do they stop at the cliff jumping beach. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

We are staying at the Sheraton OSJ in September, roughly same time frame (early afternoon for next day embark). I've been looking and Google Maps puts walking distance to El Morro at about 1.1 miles (20-25 minutes). Walking distance to San Cristobal much shorter, about 1/3 of a mile (7-8 minutes). Haven't made up our mind yet which we're going to do. Probably just depends on how much walking you want to do and whether you want to meander through OSJ on the way to El Morro. We'll probably figure where we want to eat dinner and have a couple drinks that evening and decide which to do based on which fort is an easier path.
Thank you Husky. I can report when I get back what we ended up doing

We found the Sheraton to be just fine with a great location...they have ice machines on each floor and we just filled up the ice bucket...kept our drinks cold enough and they also have an in-room safe. We also sailed from the Pan American pier onboard RCI Adventure...the pier is just a quick easy taxi ride.
Do you remember how much the cab fare is from the Sheraton to the pier and how long the ride is? Thank you

I highly recommend the West end tour. We did it last summer and it was the highlight of our cruise. We loved it so much we want to go back and spend a week on Curacao.
