  1. I posted today about the increase in price of the villas and cabanas. On the web site to research shore excursions the villas showed a price of 349 now 699 and cabanas 175 now 399. I called to ask why the big price increase or if it was a mistake. They said it was high season...in October? And there wouldn't be a ship there if the hurricane hadn't happened. Price gouging!!

  2. Just got off phone to ask why some shore excursions prices have doubled. A cabana listed on the web site was listed at 175 now it's 399. Villa was 349 now 699. The rep explained that prices change for example during high season. In October it's high season? And there wouldn't have been a ship there if it hadn't been for the hurricane. Escape is the only ship there. Really makes me not want to book an excursion if we are just getting gouged because of the hurricane.

  3. question about the perks..are you using Harrah's platinum perks to get the free dining? or is that with NCL?

I didn't know you could use your Harrah's perks (I'm Seven Star) to dine in the fee dining areas. We are doing this cruise in 3 weeks..staying at the Harrah's too (free) and our cruise is free too..(except taxes and port cost). Suppose to be able to get drinks in casino for no charge as well..Did you find that true? We are also flying free (NCL credit cards points)

    Thanks for the info :-)

  4. Our first cruise was in 1998 on Sovereign of the Seas, even tho we enjoyed our little 3 night bahamas cruise I think it would be our next one that was most exciting. We sailed for 7 nights on the S. S. SeaBreeze and loved her. Too bad my favoriate slot machine is at the bottom of the ocean. I learned to play video poker on her. :-(

I was always interested in my Father's stories of being on a ship. He was on the USS Los Angeles during the Korean conflict. There is a picture of him standing on deck pointing to a shelled stack in the Los Angeles newspaper from that time. He doesn't talk about it much any more but I have always wondered what happened to his ship.

  5. First timer. :-) My question is...

I'm planning on a New England cruise in Sept 08. I will be purchasing the cruise with Travelocity. Right now I have 2050 in points. So do you call NCL and get the certs. sent to you first or book the cruise? I really don't need to book it for a few more months. Do I also tell Travelocity that I have these NCL certs?

I'm still confused with the process. I just want to do it in the right order so I don't lose my points.

    Thanks

    Michelle
