The workaround is to book for two with a made-up second person who is a no-show at the pier.
Forgot to mention -- "and still maintain the 2x points" -- it has been mentioned here that using that strategy results in 1x points only. Can anyone confirm this?

What's annoying about booking as a single is sometimes the GTY rates are not available.
A cruise i'm looking at if booked as a single forces you to select a room causing the price for 1 to be $1700+, while if you book for two it's $1400. Has anyone found a workaround for this? I'd likely pull the trigger on buying for $1400 as a solo but not $1700+.

Windjammer was not open for dinner, they closed at 3:30pm. Park Cafe, though, was open 3-6pm and again 8:30-11:30pm.
Yikes, seems like not a lot of options for those who don't frequent the main dining room.... -

Cyprus is in the Med. Radiance doesn't need to go thru the canal to get to Miami. Am I confusing something with something?
Radiance is scheduled for a 14 night LA to Miami eastbound through the canal on October 1, arriving Miami Oct 15. I’m guessing they may swap Serenade in on this trip and transit Radiance west to Miami from Cyprus. -
Radiance is in Cyprus now- first available booking is the October 1-15 canal trip followed by trips out of Miami.
Hopefully the canal crossing is still occurring and they don’t just cancel that cruise and head west from Cyprus to Miami!
Do you get 2 points per night if you cruise solo?

Anyone know if there is any difference between booking 2 passengers then having one "no show", and booking two passengers and later calling to remove 1 from the reservation?
Would the latter result in a "single" booking for 2x points?
Makes sense - but on a ship with no studio cabins i'd feel fairly safe.
