  1. To answer your question about the internet pricing.  We are sailing on the Allure November 3rd.  The online

pricing for 3 devices was originally around $200.  I put it in my cart but didn't purchase it.  It then went

down to $167.00.  I saw it go up and down twice and finally bought it at $167.00.  I thought this was a good

price for unlimited for 3 devices.

  2. Thank You. That would be great if you could get back to me after you return. We probably won't be going into the restaurant so if it's on the menu it won't be a problem for us.

  3. Our grandaughter is 10 years old and very much into turtles. She's also very smart. Do they talk about how they raise them for food? Are there signs posted? While I would love for her to be able to get up close and personal with the turtles I wouldn't want her in tears if she found out the truth.

  4. and tourism. You can be certain there is not a happy turtle anywhere near the place and that is heartbreaking as they are beautiful to see in the wild.[/quote How apparent is it that they raise the turtles for consumption? We were going to bring our grandaughter to the farm in November but she would be in tears if she knew the "truth". Are there signs posted? Can we hide it from her easily?
  5. We were there last June. It's a long walk from the Hamilton ferry especially when it's hot. I would recommend taking a taxi. I remember the sidewalks being very narrow in some areas with many curbs. I can't imagine a scooter being able to navigate it. The institute is wonderful. I can't imagine being able to see much of anything in 30 minutes. I think you would need a minimum of an hour to see much of the museum but that would be pushing it. You wouldn't be able to spend more than a minute looking at any one thing. You wouldn't have time to do the "dive" which takes about 15 or 20 minutes by itself.

  6. I'm surprised no one has said anything about Sea Bands. These are elastic bracelets with a button on the inside. The button is placed on a specific location on the wrist. This remedy works the same as accupressure. Great for people who can't take medication. I personally am a fan of Bonine. I have used Bonine for years. If it gets extremely rocky I use the Sea Bands and the Bonine.

  7. No doubt your granddaughter is well behaved, but one reason we eat in the speciality restaurants is the the quiet atmosphere. Age isn't really that determination as we were in Muranos every night on an Alaska cruise and there was one table several nights that were adults, and they were loud and obnoxious. I wish people any age would remember that people go to these restaurants for a quiet relaxing dinner.

I agree. I have dined in many specialties and found some adults to be worse than many children. I also enjoy a nice quiet dining experience.

  8. We sailed on the Summit to Bermuda on June 22nd. We are in our early 60's and had our 8 year old grandaughter with us. We would have liked to dine in Normandie. Our grandaughter is very mature for her age and loves to dress up and dine in fine restaurants but I clearly understand their concerns for allowing children in a fine restaurant. Everything I read clearly states that you must be 12 or older to dine in Normandie so we never questioned it. I was chatting with the person who was trying to get people to make a reservation for the specialty restaurants (they had tables set up outside of the buffet area). He asked if we would like a reservation to Normandie. I told him we would have loved one but our grandaughter is only 8 and the age limit is 12. He told me that the policy has been changed and they are trying to be more kid friendly and she would be welcome to dine there. I was very annoyed at this point because it was the end of the cruise and there were no times left that suited us.

Has anyone else taken their children to Normandie? If this is the case they need to let people know earlier in the cruise.

  9. I have been to Bermuda 6 times but the most memorable thing we did was the night time glass bottom boat ride. We lucked out and had a beautiful star studded sky. They have large flood lights that light up the ocean and it was truly beautiful. We never buy ship excursions in Bermuda but we are taking our 8 year old grandaughter this time in June and plan on doing this excursion again. It was very well organized.

  10. This question is for all of the old time cruisers (like myself). My co-worker and I are trying to remember when was the first time we had a television in a cruise ship cabin. I sailed on Home Lines's Atlantic in 1981 and I thought there was a TV in our cabin, my co-worker disagrees. Does anyone out there remember these details? My first cruise was on the Carnivale in 1979 (I think) and I thought we had a small TV. We would appreciate any info from those of you who remember.
