stormloca777 and postalgrrl,
Thanks for the great ideas. Looks like we will have to wait a little while longer before planning another cruise, maybe for our 60th birthdays next year. Stuff just keeps occuring! Connie and I are currently in the Bar Harbor, ME area (we try not to stay in one place for longer than a month!).

Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a while, but have looked in from time to time. We are looking for a warm weather cruise with more sea days. Destination doesn't really matter, just days at sea.

I came back to read a few posts and see whats going on. Looks like everyone is busy right now. Thinking about another cruise. This time somewhere warm. The Alaska cruise was too cool to be outside much.

Stormloca777,
Congratulations on your wedding and such a lovely honeymoon. A honeymoon cruise is always too short.

Hi y'all,
We are back from the Great Alaska Adventure. Everything was great! The land cruise was rushed for the first 3 days, than calmed down. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.
The sea cruise was wonderful. We went on two excursions and had lots of fun. Loved the White Pass Train. We will cruise again, though it may be awhile.
Carol & Linda: we have a 37' HR Vacationer. She has a Ford gas engine (V10), with a Banks power pack. You'll love going full time.
We should be in your neck of the woods summer 09.

How was your weekend cruise? Connie and I can hardly wait for our first cruise. Land cruise begins 19 May, sea cruise bergins 25 May. :D

We were about 3 cars from the back and it was the best because the guy at the front would say what photo op was coming and we had time to prepare. We even saw a bear sh*tting in the woods. I kid you not. (Probably the only reason he stood still!) :D
How funny!!!!!!!

RVMamas,
If I remeber correctly you should sit on the left side of the train. My "in laws" rode the train when we all were on our Alaska cruise. Jennifer & I rented a car and drove to Emerald Lake. It was a great drive, beautiful scenery. Check on the Alaska boards you should find the answer there. Budget Queen answers most of the questions over there and she is the expert on Alaska.
Postalgrrl: :D Thanks, you can bet that someone on this thread has "been there, done that" or knows who would know!.

Hi y'all,
Has anyone taken the White Pass Scenic Railway excursion? I was wondering which side of the train is best to sit on?

Mithryl, if you're talking about the advertisement at the top of the page, it's automatically inserted into each page on all boards. You were just unlucky enough to be the first poster on several pages.

"To be gay in Jamaica "to be dead"
I for one, will never visit Jamaica. My dollars will be spent in a more friendly place.
Cruise documents: Well, I called the travel office and while I was on hold they looked but couldn't find them (my agent is on vacation)!
They called back about 45 minutes later, and they found the documents and will mail them to the house.:D I leave in exactly one month.;) :D

Hey y'all,
Can anyone tell me when we should receive cruise documents? I don't want to bug the TA, but I'm anxious to look everything over.

Pussycat, we have not had the RV in Canada, yet. Connie's grandparents on her fathers side, were both from New Brunswick, so we will visit that area first.
Winnie
:o OOPS! :o Connie's grandparents were from Nova Scotia, not New Brunswick.

RVMamas, do you ever park your RV anywhere in Canada?

Thanks cruisinJ&C. It's especially an accomplishment since we retired, made a drastic change in location PLUS went through menopause & quitting smoking together!! A real test on a relationship!
WOW:D Congratulations! Pretty small minded of Olivia not to change dates for such a momentous occasion.
I hope Connie and I are together that long, to make a 40 year anniversary we'll only be 83!

Me me me! I will be in Haiti on my 28th birthday! What a wonderful way to spend it!
Yes indeed, what a wonderful way to celebrate!

Is anyone celebrating a birthday or anniversary on their cruise? I will have a birthday 19 days before we sail, Connie's birthday is 7 days before we sail, and our anniversary is the day before we sail.:D

Winnie, 57, retired Army Supply Sergeant (92Y E7), and Connie, 57, retired civil service, based out of Broken Arrow (Tulsa), OK, but living where ever the motor home is parked (at a lovely Parish Lake in Ruston, LA this week).

We are going to reserve our choice until after we have taken our first cruise. I can't imagine that we won't like it, but...........the possibility is there. This cruise might move my current favorite mode of vacation transportation (trains) to second place. I think that when Connie and I were born, the travel gene was tripled!!
Even though we are on a full time vacation, we still take a vacation every year, where we leave the cats and motorhome behind. Last year we went to Cape Cod for a couple of days.

I love looking to see where everyone is from. I have already visited many of the places where posters are from, or currently living. It does seem that most everyone is close to one of the coasts.
When I retired, it took a year for us to decided that we needed to travel full time, sooooooooooo, we will probably get to the other places before long.
Happy sailing!:D

Haven't been on the boards for awhile. Anyone done the Ft. Lauderdale R/T Panama Canal Cruise? Does the ship actually sail the canal? My partner and I thinking about this cruise in late 2011 or early 2012.
