Not on your sailing but my partner and I are just off Edge and loved it! A traditional cruise experience, it's not, but keep an open mind and you'll have a great time! Peter at the Martini Bar is the bomb!

My partner and I will be joining you. Looking forward to this sailing.

Excellent! Glad to hear. It's a beautiful ship, and Bermuda is a beautiful island.
Anyone?

If I could afford it, I totally would!
Love to have you aboard but totally understand.

Wish you guys were going in August! Seems like I'm gonna be by myself so far lol
Work obligations will keep us on the week of 9/20. Come on along with us. I understand there are a few Haven cabins still available.

We were in a Haven Courtyard Penthouse Suite on our last Breakaway sailing in September 2013, and will be again on our next sailing in September. You will enjoy the privacy and exclusivity of this area, and particularly the dedicated bar and restaurant. The staff is professional, polished, and eager to serve every desire.

Cruising is a great way to sample Hawaii as no two islands are the same. Everyone thinks "tropical is tropical," but Hawaii pleasantly surprises around every corner. You'll love it. Pride of America is not your typical cruise ship in that it's flagged in the U.S. and enjoys a reputation for being a little too informal for some. That's not to say there isn't a sense of decorum, but whereas on some lines the staff is there to serve up a heady course of sophistication, on POA the atmosphere is just a bit more casual and laid back. It's a nice change of pace, and fits in well with the Hawaiian vibe, but it surprises some and not in a good way. Don't get me wrong, we love to be wined and dined, but POA was a pleasant departure from the "formula." As with all cruises, take advantage of those excursions that interest you -- helicopter tours, a luau, etc. -- but allow yourselves time to explore on your own and simply relax, both on and off the ship. There's a spirit of oneness with nature in Hawaii. You'll feel it the moment you arrive. It's a special place with special people. Let me know if I can help in any way.

This is cruise #12 for us and I think you'll find that Breakaway holds its own very well, particularly in The Haven. Have a fabulous cruise!

Gay couple making our third visit to beautiful Bermuda and our second sailing aboard Breakaway. Anyone else joining us?

My partner and I have sailed Breakaway and Getaway before, and we are preparing another Breakaway sailing in September. You will love it! Let me know if you need any information on the ship! Enjoy!

Thanks to all the guys who contributed to a fantastic sailing aboard Getaway, especially David from Atlanta! We absentmindedly left the farewell party without getting your contact information, but wanted you to know how much we enjoyed meeting you! Here's my email: valleyguyva@aol.com Hope you arrived home safely! Let's all do it again soon!

Thanks very much for the tips. We sailed Breakaway last September and found much the same situation with FOD meetings. The daily schedule noted the meeting, but from there you were relegated to GAYDAR and and being proactive. Our sailing had a fair contingent of LGBT folks, but FOD meetings were not well attended. An NCL host or some signage to suggest the venue was an officially sanctioned meeting place would have helped.

Great to meet you David from Atlanta and David from Dallas. We have a few cruises under our belts but last sailed from NYC on Breakaway to Bermuda. At that time Getaway was still under construction, but we knew we had to sail! We love cruising for many of the same reasons: mainly to escape insanely busy jobs and just chill. Frankly, there are many ports where we never get off the ship and simply enjoy the solitude! Looking forward to meeting you both on board! You picked a fantastic ship!

It's great to hear you and your family are joining us on this sailing! Like you, we are avid cruisers and typically sail in the fall when most ships are a bit more serene than summer. Please stay in touch. We would love meeting you on board.

Making another check of the Cruise Critic community for LGBT folks sailing with us! Having enjoyed Breakaway in September 2013, we are trying out Getaway. Looking forward to meeting everyone onboard. :)

Well, as the date suggests I don't check Cruise Critic as often as I should, but I'll try to do better. Great to hear from you. Vibe is a great location for sail away, but it's a big ship and there are plenty of good spots otherwise. If Vibe is of interest to you for the entire week, rush to buy your ticket the moment you board. Access is limited and tickets go fast. As for Breakaway, please feel free to ask anything. As with all new designs there were hits and misses, but it was evident someone did their homework after Epic. We had a great time and found the staff and crew very accessible and in good spirits. We also found NCL's attention to veteran cruisers the best on Breakaway of any ship we have sailed before. After a miserable winter we could use some tropical sunshine now, but I guess September will be here soon enough.

Hey, there! My partner and I have booked this sailing on Getaway out of Miami after enjoying Breakaway to Bermuda the same week in 2013. We enjoy sailing in September and simply take our chances on bad weather. Breakaway was one of our best cruise experiences ever, so we have high hopes for Getaway.
