  1. I just booked Independence OTS that leaves out Monday 10/3.  This is my first cruise on RCCL. New to Royal but not new to cruising - my 28th overall.  I have been reading as much as possible! I've purchased UDP and soda package.  We don't drink alcohol.  Check in is done. Trying to absorb as much information as possible before I pull out the suitcases to pack. 🤗

  2. Hello Fellow Cruisers!

Every time I go on a cruise, I look for recent daily newsletters to get excited and see what types of activities are offered on the ship. I decided to save all of our fun times on our recent Carnival Conquest holiday sailing so I could share with other people. The links are below. Feel free to comment with any questions.

Did you happen to get pictures of the dining room menus? We wanted to plan a night for the Steakhouse.

  3. Yes, 9200, Is a deluxe Oceanview. It's the size of a suite with floor-to-ceiling windows. That's the only reason I was considering them staying in there with us. (That & the fact that a room is almost triple the cost for the 2 of them.)

  4. We will be traveling on the Conquest in January. We had originally booked just myself & my husband. Now my 17yo DS wants to go & take a friend. It's roughly 400 ea to add to our room (9200) or 750 ea to get them a nearby IS cabin.

Can the boys still shower up in the Spa area? We did this once but it was years ago.

  5. We will be in Nassau on Saturday Feb 18. We are looking at doing a day pass at a resort. My niece is a paraplegic and needs somewhere that is accessible and offers a beach chair that is accessible for her to enjoy the beach.

We initially wanted to go the Melia, but they do not offer these type chairs.

I figured I may be able to get some answers here quicker than calling ea resort individually.

    Thanks,

  6. As you see in the title, I would be a newbie RCCL cruiser. I have seen the "sale" offers the end today & saw postings of the "sale" that begins tomorrow. I am thinking of giving RCCL a go. I live in South Georgia, so Port Canaveral, Tampa & FLL are the 3 ports I would be willing to sail from. A few questions:

    1) Which would be the best financial option...sailing with just me & DH? me, DH & DS (16)? or adding our 2 toddler grandchildren? (saw a kids sale free but didn't know if they jack the rates up so they end up not really being free)

    2) I am open to how many nights to do - which do you suggest? (If a 5,6,7 is not much more than a 3-night, I may can make it work)

    3) Which sale would be the better deal 60% 2nd person or sale beginning June 7?

    4) Is there a particular way I should book as a 1st time RCCL cruiser?

Any additional information/help is appreciated. (BTW, I have fished through a few threads & opted to post to hopefully save some time searching multiple times)

    Thanks so much!!:D

  8. Several years ago I read on these boards of people getting a cab for an island tour. There will be 5-7 women...anyone have any experience or advice they can share?

  9. We're back! And yall were so right! Beautiful day. We went to Paradise Beach as scheduled. We left around 2pm & a fellow cruise group stayed on & told us at dinner that night that a 10-min rain shower came right after we left. Then the sun came back out & it was beautiful. We shopped a little after we left & only felt a few sprinkles.

    Thanks for helping!

  10. On weather dot com, I see for Saturday a 60% chance of rain with a forecast extreme UV index of 11. So it sounds like a pretty sunny day with a chance of some showers.

Thank you!! I will keep plans as is then!

  11. So, we're headed out on the Paradise in the morning to Cozumel. And weather.com is showing 100% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday in Cozumel. It's not looking so good for our Cozumel beach day. What else should we do as Plan B?

  12. I know this is off topic but I hope you got a notarized letter from the childs parents allowing you to take him and to be allowed to make medical decisions.

I figured I would ask since you question has already been answered propery

Yes, I am getting a letter. And the rep at Carnival told me to make sure the lettr is addressed to both me & my husband.

  13. The only way the other cabin that is connected with your cabin cab do priority check-in with you would be IF that cabin only had minors in it. If the cabin has an adult, the rules do not allow you to all check in with your priority privileges. I know this because I am platinum and have my husband and son's friend booked in another cabin...similar situation: thought they could board with me because they were attached to my sign & sail account. Not true per Carnival. But we will reassign roomies when we board. ;)

  14. Right now I have myself & my DS14 booked in a cabin then my DH & DS friend14 booked in the cabin next to us. I had to book it like this since the friend's parents are not sailing with us. I was told that I could have the 2 boys in the cabin and me/DH in cabin for the actual sailing. My question is: when can I re-arrange the boys so that everyone has the correct S&S card...at the port or onboard @ information desk??

Please don't flame because it's not gonna change my mind. I'm staying with my husband on this cruise & the boys are staying in the cabin next to us. Period. :D

And thanks for all those who have valuable information that can help me with this question. :p Sailing away in 10 days!!

  15. I have cruised out of Tampa before & will be cruising out of Tampa again at the end of August. Both times, I have booked my hotel via Priceline by bidding for my hotel room. The 1st time about 4+ yrs ago, we got our hotel for $65/nt & was in a nice hotel in the Rocky Point area. Again we got the same area for $55/nt. Neither includes parking - but for this rate we can park at the port.

    Good luck!

  16. Kind of a side note. But when we did Alaska last year out of Seattle we had sort of the same issue. Best thing we did was Luggage Express...we paid a little extra and they took our checked luggage on the last night of the cruise - we then did nothing else til we arrived at our home airport and picked up our luggage. It was great. We hung around Seattle for a few hours without having to be bothered by our luggage.

  17. We surprised our son a few yrs ago. We cruised a 4day to Cozumel out of Tampa. We told him we were going to Tampa to go to Busch Gardens.

Weeks before I made him a tshirt that had all the cruise info and a ship on the front and "Guess who got surprised with a cruise?" on the back. When we got to the hotel and unloaded, we called him to the closet where I had the tshirt and asked him if he wanted to wear this shirt tomorrow. He was so surprised and excited. And he wore the tshirt onto the ship.:)

    I love surprises...giving & receiving.
