  1. Just got off the ship today - we had balcony 6374 and all of deck 6 appeared to be refurbished. Likewise, we walked deck 7 and it appeared done. We didn't walk deck 8, but since they are working their way up from the lower decks, guessing that is where the work is now taking place. When we left today, cabins on Lido were open for housekeeping and they are still the older style/palette. Other than a delayed boarding, and one of the aft starboard elevators' walls covered in padded protection material, the crew did an outstanding job limiting the impacts of the work to those enjoying our vacation!

  2. Just sailed a couple of weeks ago, DH and I had 14th floor port, and parents 14th floor starboard. So we got to see both...I tend to like port, though starboard had great views this trip

Miami departure - ship was parked with starboard having better views (causeway and Star Island) but it turned around as we sailed out and port side has the better view on sailaway

St. Thomas - port side had open water and island view, starboard had the dock

Tortola - starboard size had open water view, port side had the dock

Nassau - turned around in the harbor, so starboard side had open views and port side had the dock, looking right into a Carnival ship parked in the next slip

Miami arrival - port side had the better views, starboard had the port of Miami

  3. Just off the Escape last week, we had 14176. Great cabin, bed by the balcony. Balcony already had a lounger, plus 2 chairs and the little table standard to all balcony cabins. We didn't end up using it as much as we thought we might, but it was nice to have the extra room and lounger. Would recommend if you can get it... :o

  4. Just spent the last week enjoying the Escape. Despite the prior week's Noro breakout, a delayed embarkation and clearly some changes in protocol (most notably in the buffet), I did not see or hear of any of the issues raised by the OP.

We did experience some high waves and winds on Thursday (I believe the weather reported said 11' waves and pretty sustained 20-30 mph winds throughout the day), which had the boat rocking. It was at that point that the paper "motion sickness" bags appeared around public areas.

As I shared on another post, I appreciate the efforts NCL made to keep things as safe as possible for us, and if there was any noro on board, I didn't hear of it (and fortunately none of us in our party of four were impacted by it). Other than the elevator walls, which seemed to never be clean and were in need of some washy washy, the ship was kept pretty clean. We saw an unbelievable effort by the ship's crew last night in the Manhattan dining room....a baby got sick and vomited several tables away. Whether it had anything to do with a GI illness, or just an upset tummy...who knows. But the family got up quickly and within minutes there were workers in white haz-mat suits, including respirator masks, cleaning and sanitizing the whole area. They had red biohazard bags and literally stripped the table and threw away everything - china, wine glasses, silverware. All of the nearby tables were vacant and they stripped those of the linens and everything else on them as well. Within 5 minutes they had stripped, scrubbed and vacuumed...it was truly incredible to see how serious they took this.

Wishing future sailings a safe and awesome journey. The ship was fantastic!
