    Yes.  As of today they still have not been transferred, (27th).  My Cruise Vacation Planner follows up with me every few days.  It is just taking longer than expected.

    Princess told me that all EZAIR will be transferred to cruise confirmation by this Friday, the 24th!  Which actually means in TA speak, Monday by Midnight due to the weekend!

  3. Booked my EZ Air almost as immediately as I could.  Flying Business, booked, selected seats,  received  my Princess confirmation, record locator (airline confirmation),  Done.

     

    Checked our flight prices with airline before I booked thru Princess.  Princess was better deal and includes transfers.  Have returned to check prices occasionally with airline and Princess and from time of booking, the air has gone up an additional staggering $1348.40!!!!!!!!!

     

    Booking thru Princess means you also do not  pay for air until final payment of entire trip.  If you book your air independently, then you have to pay the airline then and there!

     

    Have used Cruise lines air reservation system 6 times and love it.

  4. Bummed!  958 Additional Passengers to become friends!  Enjoy small ships, and larger mini suites, but hey!

     

    Have called, and they are in the process of finding us cabins within the prices we have already contracted, although they told me I may be moved from my prime mid-ship location, to which I said:  "That was an additional free perk to me"!  Going to be interesting!

  5. Would suggest looking into individual airlines to see what flights you may like, write down the information.  Look at many airlines.  Multiple Cities.

    Then go to EZ air and see which flights are available FLEXIBLE.  If you do not book FLEXIBLE, then the payment needs to be made on the spot.   

    We are (fingers crossed), re-booked to go on an Alaska Cruise tour May 2021.  Flying American there and Delta back.  Princess had the best price.

    And yes, you may pick your seats.

  6. Because of NOROVIRUS, Cruise lines literally set up Purell Stations at the buffet entrance and kept a simple line flowing.  Bathrooms were stocked with Purell Wipes after washing your hands to exit to ensure safety. Does anyone else remember?

    Practicing safety has been a long going thing on Cruise Ships, but PEOPLE think themselves so special on vacation, they throw caution to the wind. Wash your hands!!!

    And as soon as my MD has a shot for me, my arm or butt cheek is ready.

    The Influenza vaccine only has a 65% efficacy, and does not protect against all flu strains.  Suggest getting in better health now and keeping that health before any travel.

  8. We mourned the loss of our first Alaska Cruise tour for May 2020.

    We have mourned the loss of life in all countries, all peoples. We pray for family and friends of those we know and do not know.  Those who have lost someone, a job, a sense of sanity, not being able to go to school.  We mourn that this world of ours has changed, and will forever be different, but we can move on and make the best of it.

    It took 98 days to receive our refunds, and another 10 days for our FCC. We understood that the whole big planet was suffering and that the travel industry was in complete chaos.  I pray for those who are taking all the heat from all cruisers who are mad and angry and wanted their refunds yesterday.  Do any of you actually believe that berating your Princess Rep (working limited hours from home) or your TA, (probably working limited hours from home), would be able to snap their fingers and call the accountants and get your refund to you before any and all others?

    I agree with the person who said that if it wasn't for this insidious virus, the people would have taken their cruise.  Who is to say that maybe  a week later the virus struck, the money would have been gone anyhow.

    And as far as getting mixed information during the transitions from ships to shore, and correct communication:  Do not know about you, but the information is still changing constantly, so when it struck, no one was smarter than the rest.

    Lets become part of the solution, not the problem.  Wear a mask in public, social distance, wash your hands.  Stay safe and sane.

    Have already re-booked for next year.   Will cruise with Princess again, and again and again.  God Willing.

  9. Imagine:  You are in the Caribbean, out of your home country.  You have enjoyed a 7 day jaunt, and have now arrived at the airport for your flight home.

    The World shuts down, no persons in or out of their countries.

    The arriving flights have checked into your stay.  The accommodations are full.  There is no place to go and no place to stay.  The travel insurance does not cover such expenses.  Keep in mind that there are no accommodations available.

    Ask yourself if you would rather be on the cruise ship, or on the street!

    As mentioned prior:  You will not be able to use the FCC for a deposit.  It will be applied at final payment.

     

    Trip Total:  7499.00

    Deposit:      -200.00

    Due:          7299.00

    FCC:          -1300.00  Applied at Last Date Final Payment Due.

    ___________________

                       5999.00    Final payment

     

    I can be applied only to new bookings.

  11. There was a glitch in the Princess system.  They paid the FCC in error, then took it back when the glitch was fixed.

    The FCC is held in escrow until you pay off the balance owed toward a future cruise (balance minus FCC, final payment)..  It is not applied toward a new cruise deposit. 

    Hope this answers the question.

  12. Here in Charlotte NC, we are in our second week of "Stay the Hell Home"! 

    Restaurant employees are out of work and bars are closed. Several restaurants have special family menu deals for pick-up, they bring it right out to your car.

    Thankful for the state and county to take that action unless you are essential personnel.  God Bless the essential personnel.

    Our schools are closed and if/when they re-open will be online/video.  Colleges students had until Sunday to clear their dorm rooms and prepare for online studies.

    Our grocers are stocking and cleaning overnight and have set the 1st hour of opening to elderly or compromised patrons only.  Very smart of those grocers.

    Unfortunately, parents who work and have children, teens etc... May not know that there offspring is not practicing social distancing.  They are hanging close in groups at parks and in parking lots, and have lots of cars parked outside there homes from 11:00 am until about 4:30!!!!!!! They do not seem to care that the longer they have this behavior, the longer we all will be in lock down!

Just this morning I cancelled our trip from Anchorage to Seattle for an extended vacation.  Changed our flights to go home from Vancouver after a 15 Day plus one night in Vancouver, Off The Beaten Path tour and cruise!  Now this!   We leave on the 19th of May for Fairbanks.  Even though we have insurance, I am looking for a complete refund of everything if we cancel.  

    Does anyone know:  If they cancel do we get refunded 100%?

  14. Merry Christmas to All.

     

    There are many different activities thru out a Christmas Cruise and it is festive.

     

    One thing I would like to point out:  Although you are on vacation and celebrating the season,  the employees on the ship are missing their loved ones.  Be kind and polite, even generous with your warm wishes, and smiles.  They work very hard to please even though their hearts are heavy.  

    One year my husband and I brought on twenty Christmas Cards and just the simple thought brought them joy.
