We are leaving on 8/28 for the Northbound. The hotels are Best Western Bidarka in Homer, Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa, Bear Lodge Hotel In Fairbanks.

We just did this on the Sun. It was only for Platinum Plus members and you had to sign up for the dinner at the Cruise Next desk by 9pm the first day of the cruise (same for the behind the scenes tour).

 

We didn't have our dinner (with the Chief Engineer) until the second week of our cruise. We only saw two tables hosting in the main dining room.

We got an extra $100 off the price of the cruise. They said it was a free upgrade but the $100 was more than the upgrade. We were on the Jade 1/25/17.

You could book tender tickets for gsc as soon as we got in the cabin. We were in gsc the next day. I am not sure about Grand Cayman. It may be the same time or the day before.

You can order tender tickets from your cabin on the tv.

We leave in one week and some of the posts about crazy long lines at embarkation have me a little worried. Does anyone have any tips to make the process go smoothly? How early do you recommend we arrive? Boarding passes say 1:00 (earliest option when I checked in); we've arrived as early as 10:00 to begin the process on RCCL. Similar process on NCL?

We just got back from the Epic today. Both getting on and off the ship went quickly and easily. We got off the ship at 8:30 and were in our car by 9:05

We sailed past in September and saw the lava flow into the ocean. it was about 9:30 at night and they do a slow sail by with a presentation. It was very impressive and one of the highlights of the trip.

It reaches the area at approximately 9:30 pm.
