1. To be honest I have done no research in terms of what to do or see. We figured we would ask some local and go from there. So glad you all are so knowledgeable.

We are for sure doing a luau at the resort and plan to hit up the swap meet - like a flea market - on Saturday. Other than that we are totally up in the air. Will likely do a zip line tour at some point - hoping we can book this through the resort.

I just hope to relax and enjoy a kid free, husband free vacation. :D

  2. We used to live on Maui.

Be sure to take in a Luau while you are there.

An interesting place to see is Haleakala, but take a jacket if you go up there. We lived in Kehei so we could watch in snow on Haleakala from our kitchen window and then walk to the living room and watch the surfers in the ocean. It was really neat.

If you are landing in Kahalui you will be on the Kehei side of the island. Wialea resort is on that side of the island, along with all 3 of the Kamamaha beaches. Besure to visit old town Kehei. It is on the main road going to Lahaina.

If you are flying in to Lahaina then besure to visit the fishing village. Enjoy the drive between Kehei and Lahaina, some of the most beutiful scenery can be had there.

Also take the ride upcountry to Hana. It is a breathtaking ride!!!

Most of all enjoy the island and ALOHA!!!!:D

Momtoabowhead, what part of North Carolina are you from?

I was just in Black Mountain the 1st of the month visiting my daughter and her family.

I loved all the trees and green everywhere!! Sure is prettier then Arizona this time of year.

    I live in Charlotte!

We fly into Kahului and are staying at the Hyatt Regency in Lahaina. We rented a car.

I'm going to print your post because I will never remember all these names!!

  3.
Indiana - you are a woman after my own heart... 13 bras, one to match each color top. That made my day! :p

Yes, God Bless the DH's who put up with our fashion compulsion.

We are planning to coordinate for one of the formal nights. DH is bringing his black suit, and he will bring a tie that coordinates with the burgundy dress I am wearing one night, (the other formal night my dress is black, so he can wear whatever color tie he likes).
My bra collection is rather embarrassing. I'm in the 30's at least. I have a bra drawer, organized by color. :)
  4. My DH came home last week and gave me a folder and told me to look inside it. He said this was my Valentines Day present.

What a surprise when I opened it and it was tickets for a cruise that I didn't even know he had been looking at.:D It is for this Fri thru Mon.

Gotta love a man that surprises you with a cruise!!!;)

So we only have 2 days until we leave for the port in Long Beach, can't wait!

    How romantic!! :)

  5. DH gave me a fabulous Valentine gift! He got up early and selected ALL his Shorts and Shirts, and put them in the Cruise Room! When I got up he showed me the piles of clothes:)!

    NOW packing can truly begin!!

Yay!! I got roses, a card and a new suitcase I have been lusting after. Friday can't get here soon enough!

  6. Indiana - that is exactly what drew me to better makeup. I'm not a snob, but being able to test and still return if you don't like the product is amazing.

That and the gwp/pwp perks are great when they run those specials.

By 'high end' I meant department store. So far I have a bit of the following: Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Clarins and Chanel. I like different products from each line. Most of my makeup is Estée Lauder. I had a full makeover for my wedding and bought a lot of what they used. That is what started my makeup collection revamp.

  7. Momtoabowhead - I love trying out new perfumes in the onboard shop, and I was specifically planning on purchasing some this last cruise, so I didn't pack any. It was a nice way to wear something for a while and see how it ends up smelling on you after several hours before making a decision on a purchase. I just popped into the shop after getting dressed for dinner and spritzed a bit from one of the testers.

I did that last trip - I got Lola by Marc Jacobs. I love it!!

  8. Hi. Just popping in.

I take all my cosmetics. I have one large cosmetic bag and a separate skinny brush bag.

I have probably 8 or 9 shades of lipstick and a few glosses. I just trashed my entire makeup collection and started new with all high end makeup. Best decision, EVER. I now have good quality makeup that applies easily and looks fresh.

For me, lipstick is a mood thing. I wear what feels right for my mood.

I have a hard time deciding what perfume to pack. I'm only taking a few sample vials this trip - I will feel naked without my vast collection to choose from everyday.

  9. momtoabowhead: I think thats a beautiful dress! really pretty and elegant

Thank you! I love it. My sister is actually wearing it to my wedding. I bought another but didn't take a photo as the zipper needed replaced. I picked it up from the alteration shop Wednesday. I'll try to get DF to take a photo for me so I can post it.
