Looking for a good walking tour in Vancouver. My go to company is Free Tours by Foot. When I go to their site I can see the tours but no booking information. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company or good walking tour?

Doing this cruise at the end of July. Where did you do the covid testing for the return flight home to get back into the US?
-
What do you put if you are arriving into Vancouver by bus?

Thank you for the wonderful post and photos. I am on the Serenade in August. We are taking the bus from Seattle to Vancouver so I appreciate you sharing your experience.
So I'll ask the question. Were there any/many covid cases/quarantining on board that you know of? My biggest fear is being stuck in a small room and not being able to enjoy my aft balcony... Was the ship at capacity?

barbienj,
Where do you plan to get your covid tests?, airport, pharmacy, self administered?
Not sure yet, have to research. I am hoping that testing requirement goes away by the summer.

We need a hopper flight from Seattle to Vancouver. Price was $100 back in Jan/Feb. Now ranging from $250 - $800 depending on the flight. It is a 58 minute flight....sigh.....we will be taking amtrak bus or train up to vancouver....

Amtrak buses are sold directly on the Amtrak website - there might be legit tickets available elsewhere, though personally this is the first I've heard of 'wanderu' - but why take the risk?
But if you don't have a specific reason to be spending time in Seattle, booking tickets straight through to YVR will avoid the kind of problems some other posters have been reporting - with travel still heavily impacted by lack of replacement staff, covid outbreaks etc. the odds of a flight remaining on the same timing/connections/airframe that you book it on are lower than ever, and the airlines are only responsible to get you where your ticket is booked for... even if you're saving buckets of cash flying to SEA instead of YVR, I'd plan for an awful lot of padding time, like an extra night in a hotel which would eat significantly into potential savings.
Thanks. We are spending the week before an Alaska cruise in Olympic and North Cascades, hence the need for transportation to Vancouver from Seattle.

Going to book the Amtrak bus from Seattle to Vancouver through Wanderu which seems to be the authorized site for this. Flight prices have skyrocketed for an hour flight and this seems to be a viable solution. Any other input from anyone?

Our flight isn't until 11pm. Going to store our luggage, get our covid test and then sightsee the rest of the day.

Following because I will be in the same situation in August. I am hoping the US drops the requirement for testing to fly back to the United States.

Thanks for following along on the journey. Hopefully there are some parallels.
Q: Are you on the Haines or Sitka alternative itinerary?
Umm, both? Sitka day 3 and Haines day 5.

Honestly, cruise ships have been a floating petri dish even before covid....
Doing away with the test requirement would make things so much easier...

At the current time Royal offers testing onboard for anyone needing it to fly or continue on another cruise, no charge.
This is very good news.

I have looked a photos of the studios and it looks like the electric outlet is near the TV. Is there a hairdryer in the room and are you able to see in a mirror to dry your hair? Also, it doesn't look like there are any drawers in the room? TIA.

Our servers were excellent on The Equinox, June 4th cruise. I do agree with you about the food though. It was just lacking and I can't pinpoint in what. The desserts especially. Cheesecake only one night and no carrot cake.
