I would suggest North to South with land tour first. You stay on the go so much during land tour and you see sooooo much, it's nice to get on the cruise for the second part of your trip. The longer you can go, the more you see. Also agree with dog sledding and whale watching. ...we traveled Fairbanks to a Whittier. Embarked on the cruised. Then cruised to Vancouver

Bought an extra seat (as in paid double) or paid a surcharge? If he bought an extra seat no one should have sat there.

At that time had to pay for an extra seat charge, due to his weight. This has been a few years ago

Now that is a total crock of ****e. If you have to pay extra for your weight and buy two seats then that other seat shouldn't be filled with more weight.
That's what HE said. But ..... it is also one of the best excursions we've ever done - and my dad agrees. My brother was complaining all the time about the price of this tour. After it was over - "worth every penny !!"

Does anyone happen to know how much the helicopter surchage is for passengers weighing more than 250 lbs. for excursions in Juneau, Alaska? We are looking at the Glacier excursions that fly you to the Mendenhall Glacier to ride a dog sled on the glacier or to have a guided 25 minute walk on the glacier. I would love to hear from anyone who has done any of these excursions or has other excursion experience in Juneau. Thank you so much!:)
We did this several years ago. My dad had to buy an extra seat. Then was highly irritated when someone else rode in "his" extra seat

Hi- from the Harmony trash game!! Have you also booked this crossing?
Would love to see Gibralter but think that might be too far! Could not miss this next one after we had such an amazing time on the Harmony.
Fran & Tom
Hi Fran!! So good to 'see' you!! Yes, we have booked Symphony TA and will be on Freedom TA this October. Are you sailing that one as well?

We booked about a half hour after registration opened. Balcony on deck 11. Last year Harmony was our first TA, doing a Freedom this year. Soooooo much fun!! Laura and a Scott Strickland

I booked yesterday!! This will be my 4th TA but the first one that my sweetie has been able to take with me so I'm really excited. Is it silly that I'm excited about something that is more than a year and a half away? I have quite a few friends both from previous cruises and from regular life who are booked on this one.
The lack of ports isn't an issue for us. It's about the ship and the journey. Malaga is eh. Have walked around the city and gone to The Alhambra. I'm wondering if an excursion to Gibraltar is possible. I have queries out to Spain Day Tours and another agency asking if this is feasible.
Now that would be nice!!

I book the May 13 2018 sailing on Symphony this morning and got a confirmation number but I haven't seen an email. Nor have I need able to link my reservation with my log in on the website. Anyone else having these issues??

I haven't received an email confirmation either; we booked the TA. I don't see on my log-in reservations either. And the ship isn't listed to add. BUT they did take my deposit from my checking account....

You had to be one of the cool kids
From what I understand, for several hours last evening, the only way to book was to contact the C&A booking desk
I actually called the main Royal number, not C&A, around 8pm and got through easily and booked with no questions.

Norfolk/ Va Beach. We have previously traveled down route 460 to visit the "Star City"
Lived in Va Beach for awhile. Youngest daughter born there. Left in 1993. Same daughter lived in Newport News part of last year. Still have wonderful friends who live there. ... Small world. Hope to meet you on this cruise!!

Great!! We are from the East Coast (VA), and have done a few Inaugural Sailings. We really enjoy the excitement of a new ship.
Where in VA? We're also from VA - Salem/Roanoke

I just called the listed Royal number, and was lucky. Lewis set me right up with no questions or hesitation.

Just booked ours as well, SOTS TA

Melissa! FIL here (Future in-laws), loving the review, and if course the most recent post. We have mentioned the wedding plans in passing to DS, and showed him pics. I do see interest. But, he hasn't been back to your hometown in quite awhile. We keep offering to take him. Tell him to pack a couple of bags, you know, in case he needs something. Then we will go to check on something in the car, call you, and you can take care of the rest! Jk of course. But, he would like to meet you. And remember, we DO have another DS!! First DS is actually in Japan this week. Just because! ..... Seems we parents had decided a cruise destination wedding was best. And we were getting all planned future cruise dates from interested parties so all could be there! .... Loving your review! Miss you!!

Of course I would include you, Sarah! CM and I had such a wonderful time with you and your family. You were all so sweet - hopefully we can have the pleasure of cruising with you again one day!
We really did have an amazing bunch, didn't we! I'm still waiting to meet my future husband though... you better not have married him off at a destination wedding without me :D (for those of you that are still following along when we get to Ravenna, this will make more sense to you... so stay tuned... we should be at Ravenna by Christmas....lol:eek::cool:)
No worries, Meliisa! No worries!! And I'm seeing pictures fine on iPad and through Mozilla

Awesome, Melissa!!!! Like Peggy, remembering our fantastic times together. Thank you for doing this. Makes me miss you all so much! We had such a terrific bunch!!!

Yay Melissa, I'm glad you are going to write a review of our trip. Better late than never and better you than me. It was a wonderful cruise but I can hardly remember it so I am waiting to hear what you have to say.
Lynn (and Karl)
Yahhhh, Melissa!! So looking forward to hearing your perspective of our cruise! So far so good!! Way to go 'DIL'!
