  1. That is such a crock. If a third party vendor ran the bar and you needed to pay cash or use a credit card, that's one thing....but being able to swipe with your key card and charge your alcohol, that is a pure money grab. You can't bring on soda and water, but you can bring off beer from the UBP in a small cooler in a bag to enjoy poolside.

ok, so please help me to understand.... I get that you will have to pay for food and drink once you are off the ship. Not a surprise, but the bring a cooler off the ship to enjoy poolside is what I am not understanding. So, it is ok to bring beer off the ship in a cooler onto HC to drink by the pool or whatever? Can someone please clarify this for me  and if so how much...just seems too good to be true.

  2. I love the Jade. There is an aft section of the buffet outside called The Great Outdoors. Wonderful place to sit, relax, eat, people watch. There is a bar too.

NCL's dressier night is completely optional.

No assigned dining at all, so no part of dining rooms is reserved for that.

Not sure what you're asking when you ask about partying.

Well, like deck parties and stuff like that. I have heard that Norwegian ships can be pretty lively and we are good with that. Not saying that we want to deal with drunks all over the place but we don't mind people having a good time either. Its a vacation and we want to have a great time...but hey, anything beats work:D

  3. Hi everyone! I am a carnival cruiser and I have been looking at a cruise with Norwegian on the Jade. What are some things that I can look forward to with trying this ship? What is different with this cruise line and carnival? Is Norwegian more strict as far as partying goes? Just trying to figure out what to expect so any and all info would be Awesome!!!! THANKS GUYS!

  4. HI everyone! I was wondering what is free to use in the spa on the Freedom. I don't mind paying a little to use a steam room or a Jacuzzi for a little relaxation but free makes it even sweeter. And please no blasting be with the old comment of " If you can afford a cruise you can afford the spa". I just want to spend an hour or so during the entire cruise not hours every day. Thanks in advance for any help!!!:D

HI everyone! OK so we are a group of 6 that want to cut loose and tour the islands beaches or fun island tour, have drinks and not have to worry about getting the "stank eye" from a parent with their toddler/kid. We need help on this because we have never been to the ports of San Juan and St. Maarten. I know that there are boards for ports but they are slow and we need book something quick like and in a hurry :D Thanks everyone

  8. OK so I have a friend that booked a cruise with a girlfriend...well...she is not his girlfriend anymore  He bought her out on her half of the cruise and has a friend that is willing to take her place. what does he need to do to change the person in his cabin to the new guest? We sail in 45 days, is it to late to do anything? He did buy the insurance< would he have to cancel and rebook and if he does have to do that can he rebook and get the same room and do it all at the same time? So many questions...sorry about this guys I'm just a little anxious.

  9. Some one else's PUBIC hair !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I threw a bloody fit, went to GS & then to housekeeping management.

I know what some one will say & no I didn't even think to tell our steward. But what would I tell him wash the shell now & then. Not my job

Ahhh... Gross!!!! I would have freaked out myself... Makes my skin crawl. I know they clean after every sailing but my commercial strength clorox wipes always travel with me just for this reason.

  10.

    Hi Cowgrlkirby :)

During our last Carnival cruise our amenities basket had breathe right

strips and dental floss in it.

When I met our cabin steward on the 1st day I asked him to remove the

refrigerator contents, as many passengers do, so we could put our own

    drinks in it.

At that time I asked him if he had any other items he could place into

    our amenities basket.

When we arrived to our cabin later that day; advil, toothpaste, razors,

cough-drops and more breathe right strips were added.

    It never hurts to ask..

    Have a wonderful day!

    :)

I suppose it never hurts...lol! I will have to keep that in mind. I always walk by the cart and see stuff and I'm like " Hey...I didn't get that" lol If only I could make off with the big bowl of chocolates I may be OK with only a tube of toothpaste :D

  11. So over the years I have seen the amenities bowl in the bathroom go from "Oooohh, I'm gonna buy this when I get home" to..."A coupon...really!!" I hear from some cruisers that they got a basket full of stuff and then to "the tumble weed got a paper cut on the stack of coupons that were stacked in the bowl" So on your last cruise what was in your shell basket?

  12. I filled out the on line form also. Nothing happened, waited for a couple of days to see if an email would show up, nothing. So, I sent an email off to my PVP and she called me back yesterday and we filled out the form again. Nothing happened, so she put me on hold and I ended up with a $35 dollar OBC, would have been more but taxes and port fees had gone up for the Liberty Sailing 1/16/15. Pays to have a PVP.

I had to deal with the same thing :banghead: I do have a pvp but I think I will request a new one.

  13. So, I call carnival today because I have not heard anything about my price reduction. Bad news first...they me told me that there was no record of me submitting a form and yesterday was my last day to get a price drop...WHAT!!! I have been trying to get my pvp on the phone for days now with no success...I think she ran away...lol! Not sure what happened with the online form I filled out because I was on the phone with carnival while I was filling it out...hmm  Sooo anyway, I have been watching my cruise details like a hawk and no reduction. I call carnival this morning and the lady that I spoke with was AWESOME!! She was confused as to why there was no record of me submitting a rate drop form so she put me on hold...tick tock...we have good news for you Ms. Kirby!!! I got a refund of 90$ applied back to my credit card!! Kinda surprised that it was not an OBC, but hey...I'll take my money back how ever I can get it :D

So excited...first 7 day cruise and first price drop! I just had to share my fantastic news. I know that there are so many angry threads so I wanted to start a great one. What has been your latest cruise SCORE!!!?
