i am looking for hotel with parking in Fort Lauderdale also, with shutle to the port and back. I am just booked on the Sun Princess Dec 7 for 7 days

I don't like how they are doing this. I Took the FCC . but because the offer when I booked the first cruise. they will not use all of the FCC on my new cruise. I still have to pay when I have over 400. left in FCC. My husband fare was half price on the canceled cruise. So they will not use my FCC to cover the rest of his fare. That really get to me so now if I want to get my money back I have to book another cruise with Royal. where my base fare has to me more the the FCC that is left. or I would lose over 200. If this ever happen again I will know to just take the money.

can you prepay tips?

We went to Little French Key for the first time last year and will go any time we are at this port! This is a place I would save up and go if possible. Our time there was much too short last time...darn ship time!!! There are all sorts of options where to sit...sun...no sun... and they have all sorts of fun toys to play with at no cost. I fell in love with the stand up paddle board...I am sure there is a proper name for it...and my 60 yr old husband had fun on the rope swing! The lunch was quite yummy, but if needed I would eat a big breakfast and take snacks if needed not to miss this place. I was a bit hesitant about the price last year but it was well worth the money. I have a pic on my desk at work of us here that I look at when I need a mental escape for a minute or two. They have some rescue animals that are fun to look at as well. I have read that some folks were not happy if it was very crowded, but when we went last Feb, it wasn't crowded at all. I guess you could see how many other ships were in port at the same time to guage how crowded it could be.

who did you use to book this?

when we went with cave tubing .com we sign up for both but was not time to do it. they stop first for ATV. just let off the people that wanted to do that.when they told us we only had time to do one or the other we stay on and did the cave tubing

My wedding party (17 of us total) were fortunate enough to get the Private Oasis cabana on 05/16. Hands down, well well worth the money! We had an amazing time...the view was to die for...and it was so nice to have the entire thing to ourselves. Everyone in our group mentioned that it was by far an amazing experience and they would all do it again in a heartbea

Everyone on the Oasis staff from the bartender to the cooks and the maintenance/housekeeping folks were attentive to our every need - there was someone there just to sweep up the sand from the cabana floor, every time someone walked in. They also went into the bathrooms every time someone came out to make sure it was pristine. There was nothing out of place or dirty, and the service was stellar.

 

 

Of course we had alcohol galore too (mixed drinks, tropical fun drinks, beer...you name it). The food was delicious as well - and so much more than we could even think about eating! We had hamburgers, fish & bbq chicken, fresh fruit, tons of different salads, enough guacamole to feed a small nation and a platter of cookies/brownies etc.

 

 

The tender process was smooth, and it's a very short walk through the sand to the cabana once you get there. They have tons of towels there at the cabana, no need to bring yours from the ship. The fee includes all the food and drink you want, towels, private bathrooms (2 of them), private shower, changing room, hammock, lounge chairs both in and out of the sun, 2 large clamshells, hot tub (comfortably seats about 7 people), snorkel equipment, floats, massage table (masseuse extra), and water slide. They also had an ipod docking station and they had an ipod already hooked up and playing when we got there...Oh, and let's not forget the PRIVACY!

We did pay for 3 extra people, but Carnival comped mine and my (new) husband's fees. Not sure if you really have to pay the extra person charges, but they did hand us tender tickets based on the number of people. Suppose other folks could take another tender and just meet up with you there - not sure really how they know who should be there and who shouldnt, they dont give you wristbands or anything. They did ask for our pop flavor preferences and flipper sizes when we booked. I ordered flippers for everyone, but only 2 out of our group used them - we were having too much fun doing everything else!!

 

Bottom line...dont hesitate to book the Oasis if you can...it was by far an amazing experience!

Did I miss it, but what was price? how many people did you have to have? did you rent this before you go or on the ship? we are going May 8 2011.

we are cruiseing 5-4-08. would like to do the tubing. need to know what everyone thinks about who to book with. Do I go with the crusie line or who?
