Land excursions: we booked the one big tour we wanted for the last full day in port, (Saturday). On Wednesday night we were notified it was cancelled. Thursday was a day in port, but by the time the desk opened, it was too late to book a tour for that day. This left only an option to book a different tour in Venice; none of the options we what we wanted. I tried to have them give me some sort of credit due to the late change and us now having to use our own funds to arrange for the tour we wanted. But, I was not successful. I understand it was a credit just for tours, but this was there fault, not mine. We booked the "like package" to get the $400 credit and would have used it on another port, but due to late cancelation were not able too!

 

I just wanted to warn others of this possiblity.

 

Overall it was really wonderful, the service, cleanliness, food quality, and cabin confort (except shower) equalled Disney!

Thanks for the info about the land excursion credit - we are also going on our first Azamara cruise and also have the 'LIKE' package.

I know I would be very annoyed if they cancelled my 'free excursion' so late and didn't offer me something for my credit. Keeping my fingers crossed [emoji6]

To see how many ships are in Kotor when you dock. Two weeks ago there were two ships in port both docked in port.

I will be sailing on the Azamara Journey but can't seem to ever see it in port on that website [emoji23]. Are they the only line that doesn't seem to show up?

I'm really hoping the trial will continue during our cruise at the beginning of August! This will be our first cruise on Azamara and I know already that the lack of wine selection is a bit of an issue for us. We have the Like package and realized it doesn't add any wines for us [emoji15] [emoji485][emoji485][emoji485]. I'm used to Celebrity where if you have a drink package it includes your drink of preference [emoji6][emoji485][emoji485]

My husband and I have booked this tour for 54 euros each for the 2.5 hour tour. They seem to have great reviews and we are looking forward to it

I had the same issue, seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to add that feature since both RCCL and Celebrity manage to show status ....... But what do I know.......lol [emoji848]

I agree, I also had issues trying to book the land discoveries, seems much more confusing than either RCCL or Celebrity - so don't really understand why making it more user friendly should be an issue. :confused:

I actually just gave up :( - I'll book on the ship :cool:

I am also unhappy to learn that Azamara's Like Package really isn't of as much value as I thought [emoji30]. With no upgraded water and no extra choices of wine [emoji485] - which is what I drink - and not being able to pre-book the land discoveries - it's actually pretty disappointing !

But you will still get the included wines

And is that just 1 red and 1 white a day? There isn't a list of wines to choose from?

We are actually just looking into booking our first Azamara cruise and were deciding between the Like and Adore package - but now I'm a bit confused. I assumed with the Liquor package included - that it would include a selection of Wines as well, am I now understanding correctly, that it DOES NOT include Wines? :eek:

Hi ROCruiser, We are back from our day in Genoa/Portofino with Roberto and we had an Amazing Day!! Thanks again for your recommendation. Roberto was really great - we spent a couple of hours in Portofino and then decided to go to St. Margherita to walk around and have lunch. He was totally flexible on whatever we wanted to do. He recommended a restaurant which was fabulous and then on the way back took us to see the sights of Genoa. One of our best days by far :D

Thanks so much, he's pretty much just going to drive us to Portofino and then wait around a couple of hours and drive us back - but that is exactly what we wanted and it saves us having to try and find someone on the day. Coming with a recommendation always helps and he replied very quickly which was nice. I'm really looking forward to Portofino - I've been wanting to get there for awhile but just couldn't make it on our previous trips to Italy. :cool:

Hi, Yes he got back to me fairly quickly each time I messaged him. He's got me booked for the day but I will contact him again a day or two before just to 'extra confirm'. :D

Thank you ROCruiser for posting your link - I think that is what we will probably do -> grab a taxi and head to Portofino. Did Roberto just wait for you in Portofino or did you just arrange for him to come back and pick you up later?:confused:

Hello, We will be stopping in Genoa for the day (Sunday) and we are trying to decide if we should book a private driver to take us to Portofino with some stops along the way or just try and grab a taxi when we get off the ship? Anyone know how much a taxi would cost? Also, if it's easy to get one to take us to Portofino? I wouldn't hesitate with hiring a private tour but it's expensive for 2 people and our Cruise Roll Call is very sad :( Any suggestions on a reasonable private company out of Genoa? Thanks, any help would be appreciated :D

I've just booked All Around Italy for our stop in June. After reading all of the wonderful comments about Fabrizio I was really hoping to be able to book him but unfortunately he was already busy :( I'm just wondering what his other guides - Alberto and Peppe are like? Any preferences? Thanks
