  1. Your post got me worried. I'm due to sail on Voyager of the Seas in June, and have booked an Owner suite 1308, on deck 10, under the pool deck.

Looking at the deckplans, I think the Independence of the Seas has similar layout as the Voyager.

I have previously started a thread asking for people's opinion about possible noise from the pool deck. Most of the responses were reassuring. One person even said that the ceiling of the suite was not the floor of the pool deck!

I am a light sleeper, therefore I always book a room located on the floor with staterooms above and below. Unfortunately on this cruise, the suites are located on deck 10, below the pool deck. So I don't have the option to change suite now.

Could I ask the concierge to refrain the cleansers from dragging the loungers after midnight, so that I could get at least 8 hours of sleep? Or better still, contact RCCL and request thick gym mats to be laid on the deck above the suites? (Voyager is going in Drydock for renovation next month).

We were in room 1300 on the Voyager last month..The noise was AWFUL!!!!! The first night I got about 2 hours of sleep. I complained to Martin, the conceirge, and that night absolutely no noise...However the night after that NOISE again. I called security and the noise was less but still there..Complained to Martin again and that night no noise again, however next night NOISE again...I think you can see the pattern here. I asked if they could refrain from making noise between 12 am and 6 am..Even then you will still hear people running on the deck to the doors. The only person who seemed to do anything was Martin. Hopefully he will still be on board and can help you. I informed him he was very helpful in my situation but I had no plans of EVER sailing RCI after this cruise (long story). I have booked Owners Suites many times and most are located under the pool deck or noisy part of the Windjammer...Poor poor design. My advice, bring ear plugs but maybe you can have a little better results.
