  1. And correct me if I am wrong, since leaving out of Texas we can't purchase it til day 2 & will only pay for 4 days?

I believe you should be able to buy on day 1 of a 5 day cruise as long as embarkation day is not a Sunday. I think that is the only reason the 7 day cruises have to wait until day 2 due to Texas liquor laws.

  2. Hello all, just back from my Conquest trip and they sent the ,we miss you already paper under the door code pmb free interior. Any help on what the code means, do I call my PVP, or the promotion reservation # to get more info on money and ships. Yes they got some of the money I won on the last 2 cruises:eek: and if you have questions on the ship or cruise ill be happy to reply

We are going on the Conquest in May. Just curious if you noticed an electronic roulette table in the casino. There was one on the Breeze when we went a couple years ago and my husband really enjoyed it.

  3. We are planning to sail on the Breeze in February. We have always booked a balcony, midship on every cruise. Always think about doing a aft balcony. How are they on the Breeze and is it worth it? Are there pros and cons? Do you feel the ship vibrate?

We had always done mid-ship balconies and decided to try our first aft balcony on the Magic (sister ship) just to see if we would like it. I know there are definately those that love aft balconies and some definately do not, so we wanted to check it out for ourselves.

For us, we loved it. Pros for us were there was less foot traffic and we really do enjoy the sound and view of the wake. Plus eventually you will see both sides of wherever we are going! Cons are not a lot of shade and you will feel some vibration but mainly just as the ship is pulling into and out of ports. Also the balcony dividers are at more of an angle than the mid-ship ones so it's easier to see over into your neighbor's balcony. Other than just saying hello every now and then we were never bothered and we spend A LOT of time on ours. Some folks have had issues with soot from the funnel and food from the lido ending up on the balcony but thankfully we have had no issues so far. We have done an extended aft on the Magic, aft wrap on the Breeze and we have another aft wrap on the Conquest next year. All have been on Empress Deck 7 with cabins above and below

Anyway that is just our opinion. But it's worth a shot to see if you guys might enjoy it.

  4. I second the ABC jeep tour for Aruba. I think we did ours last year thru Carnival and it was SO fun. They drive which is nice, and the terrain is quite rocky on the other side of the island where things get crazy. It was a great adventure. They do a top notch job

  5. I think I found the tour you are talking about on Carnival's website. It is a jeep safari tour and it is $85 per person. DH has wanted to go to Aruba for so long! We are saving for a house, but hopefully our next cruise will be in 2015 and we will be going to Aruba. The tour got a lot of rave reviews. One silly question I have for you is if there is anywhere to go to the bathroom during the tour. Someone mentioned there aren't bathrooms at the beach at the end, but perhaps some of the other attractions had bathrooms. Do you recall? I know it's a silly question, but I have a small bladder!

Sorry to jump in her review but I did the ABC Jeep Safari tour back in May. We had a fantastic time but it is a rough ride, but a ton of fun! These guys are the best. But to answer your question, I think there may have been a bathroom at the Ostritch Farm (but not positive) if that is part of the tour you are looking at. The only other chance was the stop at the California Lighthouse. There is a restaurant next to it, but they charge you to use the facilities. Seriously...there was a table set up outside the restrooms and a guy collecting money. I think it was only a dollar so be sure you have some cash!

  6. My friend is going on the Carnival Magic this weekend. This is not her first cruise, but her first time on the Magic. I'd love to be able to send her a list of some fun things to look forward to on the cruise. She's taking her spouse for his birthday. Will you tell me your favorite things about the Carnival Magic??

    Thank you!

Cucina del Capitano is wonderful. Free at luch for pasta bowls and $12 at dinner. The spaghetti carbonara was fantastic as well as the house wine that is only served in that venue.

On deck 3 by the main theater, go outside and that walkway will take you to the very front of the ship. Amazing view. There are some outside steps that can take you up a few levels for an even better view.

  7. I stumbled across an old thread from a few months back talking about staying in rooms with nothing across from them. I have booked room 7365 on the Empress deck and I am now a little concerned about the choice. I read that these "empty" spaces are crew workspace. The person said it was often loud at night and early A.M., equipment (fans, vaccuums etc) were blocking the hallway and the area sometimes stunk. I try and take the negative posts with a grain of salt but I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I called carnival earlier to check on other available rooms and the only ones are at the back of the ship. Anyway was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks!

  8. Tracy,

A group of us will be traveling on the Conquest with you. We've heard great things about Sunset Beach Resort in Jamaica, doing the Stingray thing at Grand Cayman, and in Cozumel we're taking it easy and just wandering around the shops, and beach, but might end up at Playa Uvas for some snorkeling...

Look for us - we'll be the "teachers on vacation".

I will be with my boyfriend Danny who has never met a stranger. So I am sure we will catch up to you guys at some point! Looking forward to it!

  9. Browntm,

I have heard great things about the jeep tour in coz. i was told it was alot of fun.

i heard though the bamboo rafting...the guide kept telliing the people how poor they were and laying a guilt trip on them almost the entire time in hopes of a larger tip. but i don't know. pics i've seen it looks a bit crowded too. rose hall looks great and from what i've read, everything checks out good there.

nothing real specific here for ya, sorry, but maybe that helps a little.

Thanks so much for the info. That does help!

  10. I am going on the Conquest April 15th. I have cruised before on the Elation back in 2004 so I am looking forward to a newer ship and a balcony room this time around! We will be on the Empress deck. My question is about excursions. I am leaning toward either the bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae or the day at Rose Hall resort in Jamaica. The Stingray City trip sounds fun in Grand Caymen, but I keep reading about how crowded that excursion gets. Any other suggestions? My boyfriend is really wanting to do a jeep jungle ride in Cozumel and that sounds fun as well. I know this is a long set of questions, but any suggestions would be great. Thanks! Tracy
