  1. Thank You everyone!  I wish it would have said it was to early for booking in March 2021, instead of saying sold out! I will give them a call.

Lola 2013 We stayed at the Radisson  back a few years ago and liked it there.

I just looked at hotels for April, 2021 and found the same thing.  I've run into this in Ft. Lauderdale and was told they don't open for booking this early.  I plan to call to verify.

BTW, my TA recommended the Radisson Port Canaveral so I'm going with them.  Flying into Orlando so they will send a shuttle to pick me up when I fly in...and then there's a shuttle to get me to the cruiseport.  Easy peasy.

We stayed at the Radisson Port Canaveral years ago and really liked it. It was the only time we cruise from Port Canaveral. We usually cruise out of Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

  2. I just called Hyatt Place again and YES they have my reservations for 2 rooms.

I really was a bit concerned due to it being Easter week.

Now I will cancel my reservations for the Riverside Hotel.

Do I call the hotel the day before arriving at the airport for their shuttle pickup?

Dee I checked into the Embassy before booking Riverside, and being Easter week it was $335 before tax. A bit more then I wanted to pay being I am getting two rooms.

  3. I sent Value Trips an e-mail yesterday inquiring about our reservations. We shall see when they reply.

Dee, I also had made previous reservations at the Riverside Hotel. However we did not get it as reasonable as you have. I should use AARP and see if they will bring the rate down. We are paying $269. Plus paying for transportation to the Hotel. I hope we get into the Hyatt.

  4. I booked through Value Trips last Sunday, and have not heard back. So I just called Hyatt Place and as of now they don't have a reservation for us. She suggested that I contact Value Trips.

Thank you Sportsmum and Amp0289 for your response to my inquiry. It's most helpful.

  5. Thanks everyone for the quick response. I will wait until next week and if I don't hear anything by then I will call Hyatt Place to confirm.

To those of you who have been there previously, about how many walking blocks to a nearby restaurant. My husband uses a walker, but doesn't walk to far, two or three blocks is about all he will be able to handle.

  6. I too am waiting for a response back from Value Trips. I sent a request for Hyatt Place for March 24th 2018 last Sunday, and still have not heard back. This is my first time using them. How long do you wait before contacting them or the hotel? If it's not available to they let you know at the time of trying to book it?

I will let you know if we hear anything back from them.

  7. We've been there at least four times and have another day planned there in about 145 days! Can't wait!

We've not done the dolphin encounter - we're snorkelers and we just enjoy Chakanaab as an inexpensive beach/chill out day. That can vary with the amount of ships in port, but we usually go early and have a good palapa and chairs staked out way before the crowds arrive.

Seems like taxi is about $12 - $15 each way, there are plenty there for your return, they are lined up waiting for fares as you leave the park. $2 off admission ticket coupons are readily available on the web - just Google it.

We've always had food and drinks delivered to our chairs (and we usually go to the far end, about as far away from the Sea Lion/Dolphin/Swimming Pool area as possible) with no issues and it is good, fairly inexpensive food. We generally just drink local beer and again, very affordable!

    How was the snorkeling there

  8. Your personal preference as to what activities you would rather be nearer to. I'd have no problem with decks 8, 9, or 10.

Thank you Clarea, Good to know. We will be on deck 8 more mid-ship in March.

We have been on the Voyager class ships, but not the Oasis class. Therefore reservations for shows is all new to us. How will we know when to make reservations?

  9. We had a group of 8 or 10 with us at Mr Sanchos a couple years ago. It was well worth every penny. The food was very good. You can order as much as you want and as often as you want. We are not big drinkers, but the food alone was worth the price.
