So you big spenders from the North are going to spend $2 per person to take a ferry across the river?
You got something against swimming ???
Nicely played! :)

Get up early as possible to get your towel on a chair.
Skip the MDR on the last night.

Just another troll...

That's misleading. You do not need passports to cruise. A birth certificate is all that is required.
And a photo ID, correct?

Princess, Princess, Princess.....unless you plan to stay drunk, join the hairy chest contest and eat burgers for 6 days.....then go with Carnival....just very different experiences.
If you like Princess better, that's fine but don't give over generalizations as fact. I have been on 5 Carnival cruises and have never done any of the things in your list. I have had a fun time on every one of them.

re - excursions: On a 15 day Hawaii cruise in March (2015) we had originally booked excursions through Princess for all four of the port days - Princess cost over $900.00 for the ones we selected. Subsequently did some comparison shopping and discovered that booking virtually identical tours for three of the four excursions through a private (but recommended and reputable) private tour operator, we were able to reduce the total cost by almost 50%. Interestingly enough, we found that we ended up at the same excursion locations, at the same time, as those that others had booked through Princess.

Thanks for the info! We will more than likely do a lot of searching and researching before making any plans.

My wife and I are considering booking one of the 15 day Hawaii cruises next year. We have found a travel agent that will give us extra OBC, so we would like to use them. We have only cruised Carnival before and always booked direct, so I have some questions.
1) I think I know the answer to this, but would like to get it confirmed. We can book the EZAir later ourselves directly, correct? The flights are not yet available that far out.
2) Can we book extras like excursions, drink packages, etc. ourselves on the Princess website after we are booked, or do all of those things have to go through the TA? I was hoping to be able to do those kinds of things ourselves instead of having to call the TA every time we want to look at something like that.
Smoking on balconies is easy to enforce.
The difference is that Carnival has a policy of to never enforce any rule they make. After all, the $50.00 a day room, is tough enough to fill without alienating too many people. :D
They may not always enforce every rule perfectly (I seriously doubt there is any company anywhere that does), but I seriously doubt they "have a policy" to never enforce the rules they have in place. -
You said that you "turned gold". On my 5th day of my next cruise(it's an 8 day cruise) I will be gold eligible. Will they promote me early, or do I have to schedule another whole cruise before I get my official gold status
You will be considered Gold on the first day of the cruise where you officially qualify.

I have done both Chichen Itza and Dzibilchaltún. I preferred Chichen Itza, but Dzibilchaltún was very nice as well. It depends on how tolerant you are of long bus rides. It is very far to Chichen Itza, but we considered it worth it. Chichen Itza is definitely a bucket list type of thing. Our major disappointment was with how commercialized it was. There were many vendors that are now allowed inside the park. They were all selling pretty much the same touristy type of souvenirs. It wasn't a big deal, but I noticed it more at Chichen Itza then Dzibilchaltún, although we went to Dzibilchaltún about 7 years ago, so it might be different now.

After all, CC represents a majority of cruisers on any Carnival cruise. I don't know how we have not formed a cruise union yet.
I would be surprised if this is true. Does anyone have statistics that would prove this?

No wonder he is the captain of that rust bucket Carnival Imagination...
Your "rust bucket" comments are getting very old. Have you ever actually been on a Fantasy class ship? I have been on two, and other than not having all of the new amenities, they were very good cruises.
If you have actually been on one please detail out the issues you had that warrant the "rust bucket" comments.

One of the dining rooms will be used for the Your Time Dining. Someone who has been on the ship recently could probably tell you which one that is. It is not possible to do advanced reservations, unfortunately.

Hopefully removing gold members
Wow, elitist much?

It was in our room when we boarded with a tag identifying it as our gift. It was room temperature. I would've preferred getting a voucher to get a cold one on the way off the ship at the port.
* definitely a downgrade from the free drink. Wish they would just let you choose which reward you prefer.
Whether or not it is a downgrade depends on whether you drink alcohol or not. :) I do not, so the water is much more useful to me.

I was just on the Breeze, and I believe it is only open on Sea Days. It is located next to the mini golf course. My wife and I thought they were pretty good hot dogs...not great but certainly acceptable.

Keep believing the brand ambassador, he lies left and right.
Please provide proof of outright lies versus answers you didn't like. I'm sure there are times when he has said some things will be happening, and they don't end up happening exactly as he promised. That is rarely his fault. He is told things by corporate that don't end up materializing and he looks bad for it. He doesn't control when things occur. His job is to disseminate information that corporate wants told and sometimes the things they tell him don't always happen perfectly.
Anyone without a sense of humor is at the mercy of the rest of us!

We just booked for January 25th on the Breeze, so only 17 days! We also have the Canadian itinerary on Splendor booked for September 6th, so 240 days for that one. We're excited. We've never cruised twice in one year before.

I am loving your review. I also agree with you. I am not overly paranoid, but I am always surprised when people post so many personal photos of themselves, especially kids. Too many issues to think about. Looking forward to the rest.
I have always been curious about this. How does posting a picture on-line make you any less secure? What exactly could I do with a picture of someone from the internet? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I am just genuinely curious...I don't understand what the security risk is.

3) Bring back the topless deck and make it mandatory :D
Best suggestion yet! There may have to be rules as to who it is mandatory for, however. :D

Not my picture but still really like it...
I can't imagine why....:D
Will Not complain about Carnival's Beverage Policy again
