The taxis were on the right hand side of the large parking lot as you come out of the Permanent Immigration Building. Plainly marked.  Closer than the airport or independent tour buses.  At least for us.  When we came out around 8:15 or so there were several of them there (maybe 5?) but there weren't many compared to other non-Iceland ports.  I'd heard from friends who'd been to Reykjavik that Uber was easy to get, so that might be another option.

Thanks very much for your info

  2. My husband an I are booked on Viking Orion leaving Bali for Bangkok.  My husband can’t stand for an extended period of time so I usually request wheelchair service for him during embarkation & debarkation.  I just found out that Viking doesn’t provide this service.  Can anybody who have been to Bali & Laem Chabang advise me of your embarkation & debarkation experiences in those 2 ports?  Would like to know:

    - is immigration line long?
    - is walk between ship & terminal far?

Any information or advice is appreciated as my husband is worried.

    Thanks

  3. I have just booked an Alaska cruise and am a bit confused regarding the Free Specialty Dining and Shore Excursion Credits as this is the 1st time I sail with NCL.

Free Specialty Dining - I was charged $138.60 per person for service fees for the 3 meal package.  However, when I searched the NCL site, I saw that if one wants to purchase a 3 meal package, it’s $89 + 20% gratuity which comes to $106.80.  This is less than the service fees charged on the free perk.  Does this make sense?  Am I misunderstanding something?

Shore Excursion Credits - the agent at NCL was very confusing.  Is it $50 per stateroom per port?  Will it automatically reduce my payment when I book my excursions online?

Your help is very much appreciated.

  4. I was on Emerald Princess in the beginning of March for 14 days. I had been away from Princess for a few years trying other lines. This time I found both the food quality and choices in the MDR had gone down from my previous Princess experiences. I usually booked traditional dining so that I could have the same wait team throughout the cruise who know my preference but this time, I didn't get that same level of service. The head waiter didn't even stop by our table once during the whole 14 day cruise and the waiters seem to be very busy all the time and didn't have time to provide more attentive service to the customers. I don't know if Princess had made the waiters to serve more tables.

  5. Yes, Rodlim, what you described was amazing. I will be visiting Busan next March so would really appreciate if you could share more info. Where did you find this tour? Any name and contact info?

  6. Thanks Tartanexile81 for all the info. We will be in Edinburgh in June on Royal Princess. We will be on a Princess excursion but want to stay in Edinburgh a little longer and head back to the ship on our own. I have been thinking of taking a taxi back but have read somewhere that the traffic to South Queensbury in the late afternoon is pretty bad and we could be stuck in traffic for over an hour. Is that true?

If we took the train, I have also read somewhere that there are regular train cancellations. The last thing I want is to miss the ship as the next day is a sea day so it will be pretty hard for us to catch up with the ship if we missed the sail off time. I appreciate your advice.

    Thanks

  7. I am having this problem as well. I am on the August 7th sailing on harmony and also can not book entertainment. With over 5000 people on the ship, and traveling with children, I would really like to pre-book. We have called RCI MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD DIFFERENT THINGS EACH TIME WE HAVE CALLED. THE LAST PERSPN TOLD US THAT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO BOOK OVER 2 weeks ago and this option is still not available.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    Exactly!

I had talked to 4 or 5 people at RCCL and each gave me a different answer. One of them told me that Harmony does not have entertainment pre-booking only to be contradicted by another rep who said that we do need to pre-book entertainment on Harmony.

This is the 3rd Oasis class ship for RCCL so you would think that they would have the experience to handle the launch better.

  8. Hello there.

Entertainment is available to pre-reserve though our Cruise Planner 90 to 60 days prior to the sailing. Reserving shows pre-cruise is only available for Oasis class and Quantum class ships.

Note: Entertainment Reservations for the Quantum of the Seas Asia sailings for can only be made onboard.

    We hope this info helps!

That's not true. I am on the Aug. 21 sailing of Harmony of the Seas. Today is 59 days prior to sailing and I still can't book entertainment yet. Any suggestions?

  9. Hi , I have lived in Majorca for the last 20 years. Bellver castle is not really walk-able from the cathedral a taxi will be about 12 euros and they are plenty of taxis, the cruise terminal is about 35 mins walk along the the sea front. I can answer any other questions on Majorca

Is it closer to go to Bellver Castle from the cruise terminal or the Cathedral?
