  1. We just signed up for ours. We are sailing 12/26 and will be doing holiday things with family on the 24th so I was very happy to have the option to test at the pier. The wording is confusing. I signed up for an approximate arrival time as that was the only option. I also would like to know what else needs to be done other than show up close to our time.

  2. I just stayed on the island for a week. Many people will tell you there's nothing to do but that couldn't be further from the truth if you're a nature lover. I usually plan a full day at Gold Rock beach but I am a beach bum. Garden of the Groves is beautiful if you like Gardens. You could easily spend several hours there. Taino Beach is great too. There are picnic tables, a playground, nature trails and a beautiful beach.

  3. I have traveled and cruised quite a bit. I have been to many different islands and have found beautiful sights off the beaten track at every single one of them, including Nassau and Freeport. You dock in the industrial section of Freeport but some of the island's beaches are really beautiful. Gold Rock Beach is as nice as any I've ever seen(that's the one near the sight of the Pirates movie set). If you don't want to go that far you have Taino Beach and then there is Lucaya by the hotels. Fortune Beach is also really beautiful. The water will be cold no matter the air temp.

Where the ship docks in Nassau isn't too nice either but I still get off the ship and explore. Paradise Island has Cabbage Beach and Cable Beach has a pretty nice beach by the Melia. Both ports have Senor Frogs for drinking and partying if the weather is bad. Keep a positive attitude and you will have fun. My first cruise was to the Bahamas when I was 19. We sailed through a tropical storm and both islands were horribly flooded but I still had a great time and am still cruising and traveling 30 years later.

  4. My son and I just sailed on the Valor in November. We were in 2208. I really liked it. Seas were calm and we rarely felt much motion. It is not an upper/lower. It has two twins. One is supposedly a convertible sofa but the beds were made up when we got to the cabin. There is good space for a Cat 1A. I wouldn't hesitate to book the same cabin again.
