  1. Agreed! I read reviews where people loved the sashimi on their sailing. So for sure try in for yourself. I'm even going to give it another shot on the Equinox this June just to see if it's better on that ship. But if you get some thing you don't like be sure to have them remove the charge! I honestly don't recall if it was open embarkation day or not. Someone told me it wasn't but that could be wrong. BTW, the craft cocktails in there are really good. There's one with jalepeno infused vodka and basil that's super tasty!

Any chance that the drink was called "One Night in Bangkok". Had a drink called this on the Reflection 2 years ago on the Mediterranean cruise and haven't seen it since. If they have it, I will be there quite frequently ;)

  2. Hi all,

Trying to get through this thread, so I sincerely apologize if this question has been asked before. We will have the Premium package on the an upcoming Summit cruise. First time with the package, second time on Summit. Anyway, I understand that you cannot order two alcoholic beverages at the same time on your card and have it apply to the package, but let's say you are having dinner and you want to have a Pellegrino and also a glass of wine. Another example may be that we go enjoy the martini bar, but like to stay hydrated, so ask for a bottle of Evian with the martini. How do they handle these issues? Do they charge you for the water or do they let it go since it is a different type of beverage?

    Thanks,

    John

  3. We were on the 22 February sailing and we didn't attend the brunch, but we noticed that the Celebrity Today did not have a very conspicuous advertisement for the brunch as it was only noted as an event listed with the time of day. We asked one of the workers and they advised that they are deliberately not trying to advertise. Guess with the crowds at the door, they don't need more when it starts.

  4. Luggage Valet was $20 per person. You would still have to pay the bag fees that Jet Blue would charge.

Thanks. That helps with the disembarkation strategy. Our flight doesn't depart FLL until 12:40, but the having our luggage taken care of is rather appealing. As one of the other posters noted, it would be nice if those without luggage didn't have to go through the long custom lines. No biggie. Ready to set sail.

  5. Our experience as well .....

We booked this cruise last year when aboard Eclipse for the identical cruise. The price for our cabin category for this cruise never dropped below what we paid booking on board a year in advance. Moreover, 14d cruises get a $300 cabin credit when booked aboard. Celebrity offered a general state of GA/FL Resident discount sometime in August, 2013, it applied to us and we got a price drop.

We have a Celebrity Equinox Cruise Barcelona/Barcelona then B2B Barcelona Miami booked in Oct-Nov. This cruise was not booked aboard but identified when the 123Go promotion showed up. Interestingly, the 123Go package did not apply to the re-positioning leg, Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale but these repositioning cruises are dirt cheap (usu. less than 100/d pp). They are a good way to enjoy discount pricing on cruses.

    Jbuch02,

Appreciate you sharing your experience and insights on getting the best deals and knowing where to go. It can be a daunting task to figure out where to go to ensure you are getting the best deals. I have successfully used a website where I was able to establish an alert for a cruise I had just booked and if the fare dropped, I would get an email. There is a modest fee to set-up the alert, but it helped me save $300 on our past cruise last May. So knowing where to go is key.

Also, was wondering, do you know of anyone being able to get the 123go package after they booked when it was not offered? So, we booked late October 2013. Our TA had an exceptional deal on AQ. It basically was priced at the initial fare offered a year earlier. A few weeks after booking, the 123go offer was back on the table. We are not huge drinkers, but the drink package is appealing since you can experiment with the different drinks and wines, and if you can get that complimentary, it would be nice. I suspect that Celebrity of our TA would not be able to give us that 123go deal, but just was curious if you have known anyone to ask when it was not offered, but became available a few weeks later. Appreciate your insights.

  6. So we are considering signing up for one of these packages. When we booked for our upcoming sailing, we were in between the 123go promotions. Was wondering, has anyone called their TA or Celebrity to ask if they would honor a 123go drink package when they booked without the promo. If we would have waited a few weeks, we could have gotten it. I suspect that they would not offer it, but was just curious if anyone has inquired and if they were successful.

  7. We are getting closer to a 14 day out of Fort Lauderdale. My wife is considering one of the premium drink packages. I am not a huge drinker and probably will get the soft drink package as usual. So, here is my question, lets say at Day 11, I decide I want to purchase the premium package and enjoy the last few sea days with some additional drink options. Understand that they prorate the cost of the premium drink package for the remaining days, but was wondering, do they also give you credit for the existing soda package that I previously paid for since the premium package includes the soda. I know it is not a whole lot of money, but was just curious. Thanks.

  8. What does this mean please? Never cruised before and am completely unfamiliar with the security procedure. Thanks

I think what is meant is when you go through security, you bring 2 bottles of wine in your carry on and your companion would do the same. Not sure if it helps to allow some separation between the two of you or not.

I know it states only a 750ml bottle, but we did manage to bring on a 1L bottle through security once. Guess depends if they want to make an issue over 250ml.

On our first celebrity cruise, we brought some and packed it in our suitcase. Our luggage never arrived and when we called, we had to go to the 'naughty room' so we could open and show them it was wine only. So, make sure you do the carry on.
