Glad to hear. We board tomorrow.
As of 9/25/21, ship downgraded to yellow ... second only to red as bad news! Booked on 11/6 and am concerned.

Seeking a Miami hotel to stay in pre-cruise that will allow us to park our car there for the duration of cruise. Expect to pay for this but it will make a lot much easier for us. Thanks for any info.

Summer, 1973 Italian Line, SS Raffaello -- New York to St. Thomas and St. Maarten (and back in 7 days!!) Hated it! :( Only a yearning to visit Alaska got me on another ship (Regent Sea, former Gripsholm and numerous other iterations that John will undoubtedly produce a history of!!! :D) years later. After that, an unbroken string of 17 additional voyages, each with its own memorable moments.

I would pay more for a truly smoke-free environment.
Here, here!! But they tried that on the Carnival Paradise and it just didn't pay, or so they tell it!!! Hoiw about starting with JUST A SMOKE-FREE CASINO!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope --- gotta have the motion of the ocean. :D AND, don't forget that the casino wouldn't open if "docked" for 7 days! I wouldn't mind just being at sea for the whole time and not stopping at any ports but that hum of the engines is a necessary part of the experience for it to be a cruise and not just an all-inclusive resort.

Mom Partridge, Florence Henderson and DH onboard the then Nordic Empress (now Empress of the Seas) from NY to Bermuda about 7 years ago. She is now co-godmother of Emerald Princess and I understand, a frequent cruiser.

AHHHHHH --- the Dolphin Cruise Line food!! Lovewd the food on SeaBreeze in about 1990 - 1991; Island Breeze some years later. Discovered on Regency Cruises Regent Sea prior to both of these that these lines were flying by the seat of their pants, but the owners knew what they didn't know how to do so well so the food service was sub-contracted to a firm (including personnel) who could do (and did) a spectacular job. They were Apollo Ships' Chandlers and were in Miami, I think. I know I had been impressed enough with the food and service they provided on 3 cruises that I phoned their headquarters and someone faxed me a list of the ships they serviced. Not long after that, Regency went under followed by Dolphin some years later so I never did get to sail on all the ships Apollo worked on! Apollo delivered a truly fabulous "product" including nightly completely over-the-top buffets. Some of today's cruise lines ought to examine what they do and consider what they can't do as well!

It is my understanding that, in a big way it is the PORT that can specify whether or not only cruise line excursions are run in their country.
