  1. It's an older four-floor property about two blocks from the Hyatt Place and maybe five or six blocks from the Westin or Warwick. I have not been in the guest rooms in the last ten years so I don't feel comfortable commenting about the rooms, but location-wise, it's certainly a pretty flat walk to most tourist attractions, shopping and dining in downtown.

Thanks that is what I was looking for is location to dining and attractions. :)

  2. Our summer season looks unusually bad this year in terms of hotel prices; the travel people at my firm are freaking out.

Seattle's downtown is barely a mile wide and about three miles long, so there aren't any horrible locations. I would tend to suggest Seattle Center/South Lake Union (Hyatt Place, Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard, Silver Cloud) as they tend to be more reasonable and aren't so far off the grid that you can't enjoy the sights.

What is the Best Western Loyal Inn like as far as location and things to do in that area?

  3. Does anyone know which hotel Princess uses for a pre-cruise overnight?

Spending one night in Seattle (4 people) and not sure if we'll choose the Princess hotel or a different one.

Looking to probably stay near the Pike Public market.

Plan on seeing the sites and then taking a shuttle or cab to the port.

    Thanks for any info.

We are on the same cruise as you in July (6 of us). I have booked the Best Western Loyal Inn. I believe it is near the Space Needle. Now just to find inexpensive flights from the east coast. That is what is killing us right now!

  4. Just booked this motel for one night pre-cruise in July 2015. Any comments - good or bad? Also anyone know about price for transportation from airport to hotel and then next day to pier? What would it cost to go from pier to airport at end of cruise? Trying to figure out if we should get the transfer from pier to airport through Princess.

  5. I booked Princess' Glacier Bay cruise for July 2015. Yes we do want to see the Glaciers, along with wildlife. We liked the times also that we are in the ports. Now to look for a motel in Seattle as we will go the day before. Any suggestions for that. Yes, I will also post this on the West Coast Departure board but you guys were so helpful I just thought I would ask.

  6. There are 6 of us so a cab won't work for us - unless they have vans for cabs?

Are their cabs right at the pier when we get off? I am not sure of flight times yet.

I think I will book the Princess transfer and then if we decide not to use it do you think we can cancel that as long as it is before the final payment?

  7. How far is it from the pier to the airport in Seattle? I am looking at a Princess cruise in July-'15. We will be going down the day before so don't need a xfer then. I was thinking about after the cruise. Princess is charging $48 for a couple to go from pier to airport. I was wondering if a cab may be cheaper.

Thanks for any info you can share!

  8. We (3 couples) are looking to do the Alaskan Cruise on the Crown Princess next July. Can anyone shed any light on the ship or the itinerary. It looks like to me that this is the first season Crown Princess will be doing Alaska. Am I safe in saying that?

This would be our first Princess cruise. We have been on Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Celebrity. We really like the times in the ports for the Alaskan Cruise and also seeing Glacier Bay. Is that a good one to see the Glaciers?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  9. ....

OOPS never mind, its the Silohouette fall Transatlantic in 2015 I was thinking of...carry on, Your's is actually a fun looking roll call! :D

Thanks for clarifying! I thought our roll call wasn't doing anything but chit chatting!

  10. Not sure what time sunrise is....

But the options I'd look to would be the Buffet bar or cafe al bacio. Both do in fact serve all drinks, and would certainly have champagne and orange juice available. Just not sure what time they actually open.

A lot of people forget the coffee shop has a pretty well stocked bar as well as serving coffee drinks.

If this is something you would do on multiple days, buy a bottle of Domain Chandon thru Gifts by Celebrity and have it in your cabin. Even after opening it will retain the fizz for several days, or you can bring a champagne cork from home. Gifts by Celebriy is a bit cheaper than buying the bottle on board. Then get a glass of OJ the night before, and make your own in the morning!

I'm actually watching that same sailing hoping for a last minute dirt cheap cabin....! Been lurking in your roll a call a bit here and there. Talk about fire works.... LOL

I am on the Labor Day weeken sailing. I am also on the roll call. I don't see any fireworks. Can you explain?

  11. hcat - I agree with you - the old bait and switch!

How much is it per day to upgrade to the Premium package? I know it went up after I booked this cruise back in January but I don't remember what to because we were at that time satisfied with the Jamison and Baily's being on the list. Hell, my DH was satisfied with Makers Mark or Johnny Walker. Not the 2 wanna be's that they have listed for scotch or the crap for Bourbon.

  12. When we first selected the perk of Classic Package Jamison was on there. Then it disappeared but Maker's Mark was on there so my husband was okay with that. Now the other day the list I saw just had 2 wanna be scotches on there. Also no Baily's which is my drink of choice.

Now i have to push the pencil and see what we are going to do. .

NCL Breakaway was cheaper so now I am going to see what we can do with them. Hate to leave Celebrity but.....they have done this all to themselves.

Don't offer a deal if you are going to change it afterwards!
