  1. Some people insist that "Skin So Soft" by Avon deters bugs. It is not designed to do so, and instead is a skin softener, so it should be fine for sensitive skin. Whether or not it actually has the collateral effect of repelling insects I can not speak to. But many, many people insist that it works. I read it on the internet!

Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus works quite well. I have used the spray and the towel wipes.

  2. Gee...

I am sorry that my expressing a critical opinion of Princess' handling of the situation has bent so many of you so out of shape...

And I am really surprised that so many of you WHO HAVE NEVER MET ME can have so strong an understanding as to what I will or will not enjoy...

And I even more disturbed that some of you WHO DO NOT KNOW ME find it appropriate to call me names...

    Hey Steve

Since you are a Bruin, you can't be all bad :D

  3. Because they are government employees and the master key was probably a 25 foot walk from their current position and they couldn't be bothered to make the walk. (Or they couldn't find it that day)

The TSA is a total and absolute waste of time and money.

As a former/retired Federal and County government worker--I take exception to your comment. I am not lazy nor incompetent.

  4. I originally wrote to casinohost@rccl.com, and they forwarded it to the ship's host, so that works

But the host's email is the two letter code of the ship followed by an underscore then casinohost@rccl.com

    For example,

    NV_casinohost@rccl.com

    Or

    OA_casinohost@rccl.com

For Navigator and Oasis for example.

Thank you for the quick reply! Hopefully, something like this will work for Princess as well.

  5. Hi Csmom21, We're on the same cruise on the 24th, you may remember me from our roll call. Anyway, I think the Cruise Personalizer is a bit confusing with regards to current dining confirmation. We booked our cruise several months ago and we are confirmed for 6:00 PM Traditional Dining time. If I go into the personalizer and select the change button, next to Dining Confirmed, it shows our current selection in the drop-down boxes, but it also says(Waitlist #179). When I first saw this, I was obviously concerned, as I was hoping that we aren't waitlisted. Our PCC told us that we were confirmed for the 6:00 PM TD timeslot. I believe that this must be an indicator that if I want to switch to 6:00 PM TD timeslot, we would be #179 on the waitlist. So, I don't believe you can tell what your current waitlist # is within the personalizer. I would presume you need to keep calling Princess CS to determine where you are on any waitlist. Maybe some other experienced Princess cruisers can confirm that this is the only way to know where you are on a dining waitlist?

    Bruce

I have the same situation and I was told---"You are confirmed for 6:00 pm. The waitlist number is there in case you have friends that are not confirmed and want to join you--the waitlist number is for them"

  6. I was having a problem last night with the site with the Winter clearance sale. I was able to look around a little, as soon as I clicked on an item I was not able to view any further sales and had the same temporary unavailable notice. I haven't check today.

There was a time I remember when young women were told they should try to marry and doctor or a lawyer. I've found that having an IT person in the house much more useful.:D

Hahaha...I agree with you. It is also nice to know I am not the only one having this problem with the site!

  7. I have been unable to get into the Princess site for the past two days. I see that there is now a "winter clearance" sale, but I can't get all the information. I am able to view the first page of the offer...and each time I do the prices change! I then get shut out of the site. Is anyone else experiencing this?

  8. Since I live in So. California--I have had that experience several times! It never gets any less scary. I hope there was not too much damage and you are fine.

  9. The information is clearly available on the deck plans on Princess's website; you just have to have it up in a different tab/window while you're browsing actual cabins for sale. It's really not complicated; I'm kind of surprised I have to keep posting this same information over and over. I guess some of you would rather believe in a vast conspiracy on the part of Princess. Whatever.

Along the banner strip at the top of the webpage, under the tab "Learn About Cruising," click on "Cruise Ships" and select the ship you're interested in and then select Deck Plans. Once the deck plan opens up, choose the passenger deck you're interested in, and a box with two tabs will appear: "Staterooms" and "Public Rooms." If you click on Staterooms tab, there will be a blue-shaded line with the word "Passengers:" followed by a drop-down menu. Select 3 or 4 on that and the double cabins on the deck plan will immediately white-out, leaving in colour only those that accommodate 3 or 4 people. You can switch between different accommodation decks and your selection of 3 or 4 will remain in force. It really couldn't be easier.

I just tried this and it worked just as you stated. Thanks for the information!

  10. We've only gambled a couple of times and took a guarantee. The worst was the last cruise this past Feb. Booked a low cat OV and got P201 at the VERY front of Plaza deck right by the doors the crew uses to enter their area. Felt like we were cut off from the world up there. Only good thing was our proximity to the IC and dining room.

Best was the year prior but it wasn't a guarantee, we left the "upgrade" on and went from a BE to a nice mid ship balcony on caribe deck. Loved that balcony.

We won our first cruise at a travel show raffle and had the P201 cabin on the Golden. It was the best because the cruise was free--and the worst because the crew played dice in the middle of the night (lots of yelling) and when the anchor was dropped it startled us out of bed!

  11. In addition, most Princess sailings have a third early Traditional seating that is held in one of the Anytime Dining Rooms. It's "usually" held at 5:30PM in the Anytime Dining Room on Deck 6 Midship.

Hmmmm...we signed up for Traditional at 6:00pm. Where will that be??
