  1. Thanks so much o those of you who have offered suggestions and advice. This has been a real eye opener watching our daughter go from being a very competitive athlete to being wheelchair bound for over a month now with a 4-6 month recovery time. Good news is she will be able to stand and take a step or two while on the cruise which is better than the past month where she hasn't even been allowed to stand. When Achilles would have been so much eaiser they say because she would have one good leg and could get around with crutches, but NOPE our daughter found a way to rupture both. I have rented a motorize scooter for her while on the ship.

  2. It's been a few years since I have sailed RCI. I just want to make sure I am informed. Unfortunately, my daughter ruptured both of her Achilles and had surgery at the end of February. She was a competetive cheerleader and had to watch as the team had to replace her on the team. She is no longer going to be competing at Cheer Worlds in Disney at the end of April and trying out for college cheer is not possible right now either. We didn't want to take her spring break cruise away from her too. She will be in a wheelchair still at the time of the cruise but will be able to stand to move from chair to dining chair and loungers at the pool. They have no handicap rooms available so we are going to make the best of the trip with her two friends. I have never paid attention to accessible of areas on ships before as I have never needed to. We are sailing on the Freedom.

    1. Is there areas by the pool to park wheelchairs to store while she is in a lounger? Any tips for areas on the ship that she will be restricted from?

    2. Ports are Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. Any suggestions are excursions? She is adventurous and had planned to rent a wave runner and paddleboard and such but those types of things are not possible.

    3. Is the Mystery Dinner onboard worth the price?

    4. If we have 3 cabins (her and I in one, 18 year old friend in another connected to ours, another friend and her mom in the 3 cabin) Can we be under one photo package?

    5. If we prepay for a massage would the price be any cheaper onboard during a sale? This is something she has been waiting to do considering she has lived in a bed and wheelchair for the last month.

    6. Any other suggestions to make this the best trip possible for my daughter's senior trip?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

  3. We just got off the Breeze on Sunday. Formal night was the second and fourth night for us. Prime Rib was offered on two nights with the first time being the first formal night. On that night they offered lobster tail too. My husband didn't care for the dinner menu on the last two nights on the ship. You can always add a steak or lobster tail to your meal for $20 but we never did.

  4. We just got off the Breeze on Sunday and we were in room 8367. If I remember correctly our walls were pale yellowish with a blue and green picture on the wall facing the bed. The pillow cushions on the couch were yellow and blue stripes with small royal blue pillows.

Sorry, that is all I can remember about the room.

  5. I hit a cruise dry spell over the last two years, so I am excited to be on the Breeze real soon. I have a couple questions just in case things have changed.

    1. Is buying the case of water on the ship a good value? I have never brought on my own before and never really paid attention to what individual bottles cost before on the ship?

    2. Is the diet coke a better deal before hand or same price if I buy individually as I go?

    3. What is the media thing I hear about?

    4. How many formal nights on the 6 day Breeze?

    5. Any new things in last two years that would make my trip more successful?

Thanks so much for your kind replies.

  6. I know in the past children under 18 do not need a passport, but with our cruise so close I just need other people's reassurance. I looked it up months ago and she was still able to use valid ID and birth certificate. We are cruising out of Miami and back into Miami. We are going to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. I had every intention of getting her a passport and even had the pictures taken but life got in the way and I never sent for it. We leave in two weeks. She is 16 years old.

    Thanks,

  7. I have never cruised on the Breeze so I am super excited. Does anyone know how many formal night they have on their 6 day cruise in the Caribbean? Any thoughts on things I should be thinking for this ship? I am excited.

    Thanks,

  8. Other then your luggage tags where is Fttf stamped on your paperwork?

You know I am not sure. I know there was a paper in my cabin when I arrived that listed all of my perks because I had FTTF. I didn't notice if my card was the giveaway or not when I went to guest services or early tender. I don't recall it saying FTTF on my card. But I don't know if it looked different then other people's cards. This was my third cruise with Carnival.

On a side note, my cabin was ready when I boarded around 12:30 and my luggage came quick.

Sorry I am not of more help when answering your question.

  9. I bought mine for my next cruise can't wait to see how much of a difference it makes

In my opinion it was a huge difference. When my family walked into the building to embark a helpful Carnival lady pointed us to the LINE to get in. I told her I didn't think that was the correct line and she said do you have "priority" boarding and I told her yes. She looked at my paper, apologized and pointed to a room to go in where the only people waiting were to Carnival Customer Service reps waiting on people like me to walk in. We were immediately checked in and on the ship. No long line for us. Three times on the ship I had to go to Guest Services. The first two times the regular line was long, but I was able to go to the Diamond/Platinum/FTTF line where there wasn't anyone waiting in line. Tendering into Grand Cayman I was told the night before to go down to Guest Services when I was ready to get off the ship. We went down and they had about 4 tables and chairs with FTTF Reserved signs on them. A Carnival rep came and escorted us to the boat to tender immediately. We walked right onto the boat.

We were given number 1 luggage tags for disembarkation.

With all of that I felt it was DEFINITELY worth it.

I hope you have a blast on your cruise and that FTTF works for you as well as it did for my family.

  10. My family and I just returned from a Carnival cruise this morning. I read some reviews on here an went with Mark Morris Tours when we stopped at the port of Ocho Rios. I absolutely can't say enough wonderful things about them. Mark and his wife, Janese met us at the port in a very CLEAN at least 15 passenger van that was about 7 years old. It was the cleanest tour van I have ever been in in all my cruise tours over my 8-9 cruises. They drove us to Dunn River Falls and even gave us "the talk" about how to cope and handle the pushy vendors we may encounter. His wife walked us down to the beach where she took our clothes and carried them back to the van for us. On the way to the beach she showed us where to rent water shoes if needed and where we would end the climb. She told us we could find a tour guide and hold hands up with them but assured us we would be able to climb alone. We all decoded to head out on our own and it was great. It took about an hour from start to finish because some parts were more crowded then others. Definitely take a water camera because getting wet is pretty much a definite because one tour guides splash water on purpose. Once we finished climbing the falls we met Mark and his wife back at the van. He then asked if we were interested in water tubing but we said we would prefer a little tour of the area and some shopping. He showed us some sites and then took us to his dads house where we got to see pottery his dad made and the kiln room. They took us to some shops where I could buy coffee and even walked in with us to make sure we were finding what we wanted. From there we went to Scotchies and had delicious jerk pork and chicken. Mark even brought samples to us while we waited in line and showed us the menu and converted the prices to American money for us prior to us ordering. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone. We were a little apprehensive about getting off the ship in Jamaica after hearing so many negative things but I am telling you we had an amazing time and there isn't one bad thing we could say. You could tell mark and his wife are proud Jamaicans and have a true love of their country. We gave them a great tip because our tour was $40 a person and we know $20 of that was entry to the Falls. The time we spent with Mark Morris tours was absolutely worth it. When we make it back to Jamaica we will be giving them our business again.
