  1. I was wondering if the Veendam has a spa pass daily/weekly and cost? anything like a chef's dinner offered? anything needed to be signed up for the day of departure that most people don't know about or is in high demand? I love using the spa's off and on throughout the week as well attending the chef's dinner if they offer them. What are the specialty activities they offer like cooking demo's, computer classes, etc. I saw online something like that Any other tidbits would be very welcome my first time on a HAL ship I am looking forward to a more laid back, quieter, stimulating, ship. Thanks!!!

  2. I called NCL to ask about the Couples Pass for the Spa pass on the Jade and she told me once on board to go the spa and buy the couples pass I just want to confirm with anyone here that, that is true...I don't need to buy a regular spa pass and then upgrade on board to the couple's pass....I normally just board and head to the spa and order the couple's pass. Thanks for clarifying!!!

  3. I have sailed NCL before and this will be my second time on Spirit which is my favorite ship. I am getting around to checking in with a week to go till I sail. Life as been beyond busy hence why I'm so last minute. I just saw I had to pick a time for check in with the warning that if I arrive early I may have to wait till my assigned time. I always arrive by 10:30 to get on the ships I have sailed on, earlier. I have loooooooved this and was planning on doing that as usual this trip. Anyone have experience with getting an assigned time later than they showed up for and how did it go? Any reasoning why they started doing this? Obviously they are trying to control the amount of people throughout the boarding time. Anyways.....should I just show up as usual and take my chances?

    Thanks!!!!

  4. Thanks everyone! I only sailed once on Carnival, last June, Glory, just Dh and I and we had no choice for dining and had to have late dining. We have favored NCL bc of the anytime dining through out the ship and on those ships you could eat in a separate dining room so the traditional feel of the main dining room was not experienced. When it has just been DH and I we don't mind not having the same waiter every evening. But like I stated, last year we had no choice bc we booked so close to the cruise. I wasn't sure Anytime dining pax are seated. Are they in the area above the main floor or in a completely different dining room? My boys eat at all different times since we are 3 season sport family and every day is different it seems...so I can see that anytime dining will be best for us:)

    Thanks!

  5. Super excited to take our 4 teen boys, 17/15/15/14 on their first cruise. I had to wait till I was 29:( So trying to decide if we should go with the flow and eat anytime or would it be better for them as first time cruisers to have set time seating to experience the atmosphere of main dining? My husband and i love anytime but also enjoy the main dining experience with the dancing waiters and singing..... We would do Late Seating. Any experienced cruisers wisdom would be much appreciated. Thank you so much!!!!!!

  6. RCCRANBOB: Can you explain what you mean about "under one booking link" How do I keep the accounts seperate? I have booked one of our two rooms already and need to book the other room today. Do I book it under his name then? Help....we want to just use one of us for the Cheers program. Thanks!

  7. I'd love to know about this too as my husband and I will be traveling with 4 boys and under two different rooms. So you can ask for just a room key? Our plan was to have the boys sleep in their room together and DH and I in the other room. Would love more details from experienced travelers on how they work this out.....And only having to purchase one Cheers Program would be ideal bc we weren't going to do that if both had to purchased.

  8. Ugh...I can't get a room for 4 in the spa interior rooms but I can if there's 3 or 2 pax in there....and I was going to book the teens in the cheapest room available as a gty room so I have no idea yet where they will be until a week or so before the cruise...I was trying to save money by booking gty interior... Suggestions now? Should I even mention to a Carnival rep that I'd like to book a room in the spa area and another cabin anywhere on the ship? I am wondering if I can put my husband as the user of the spa since my son can't use it....I would say he's staying in the room with the kids while I am in the spa room so can he use the spa as the second user?

  9. :confused:So I have spent so much time researching about the spa rooms and finally put a deposit on a room last night with their current special going on. I woke up this morning feeling like a complete idiot because I remembered, too late, that our plan for this cruise is to bring our four boys....meaning booking two different cabins, one under my name and one under my husbands and then just switching out cards so he and I are staying in the cabin booked with just two adults. Problem I woke up with was, how do I get my husband to have the spa perks if his name is on another room? My 17 year old son will be "officially" in the spa room and we can switch out cards but I am assuming at time of signing him up online for the room, they will alert me that he can not use the spa due to age. SOOOOOOO....please help me! Is there a way to make this work with out alerting Carnival that we are switching cards once we are checked in. If I am too confusing, I am sorry...I will clarify if I need to. Really wanted the spa room for my husband and I!!!:(
