I rented a car both times I did that cruise. I picked it up at SEATAC on the way up. There's a rental car place at the Vancouver port in the hotel. I rented there for the trip down.

They wish they could...and I hope they can soon if we want our ships to keep sailing.....While we have enjoyed the "once in a lifetime" opportunity to sail on low capacity ships, that's not going to be sustainable.
The issue seems to be low demand, not self imposed capacity limits.....Fear is keeping some folks afraid and away. It's got to end.
Get out there folks...it's the best time to cruise, ever, IMO.
Agree. My kids have a 1:15 chance of catching COVID at school and 1:1000 on a cruise right now. It was time to book!

We found this company, I believe out of Texas that has certifications from the FDA and HHS. Made in USA with USA material. On Amazon, $24 for a box of 10 and they are the N95 not a K number.
BNX N95 Mask Black NIOSH Certified MADE IN USA Particulate Respirator Protective Face Mask (10-Pack, Approval Number TC-84A-9315 / Model H95B)
Thank you!

Can someone aboard advise about the KN95 mask being provided by Princess. Is there any indication on the mask where it was manufactured? From what I am reading, the vast majority of the KN95's are manufactured in China. I'm not usually the paranoid type, but I'm not crazy about getting or using anything regarding COVID that has been made in China. Apparently from reports, taken with a grain of salt, many of the home test kits being mailed out to homes were also manufactured in China. Thanks for any information.
Bring your own. I recommended South Korean masks. They are really good quality.

That's fair that vaccinated people don't need to be tested and unvaccinated people do before boarding. Completely reasonable.
I think it's reasonable. I would do the test if they asked me to though.

The people of America are making that decision for them, so far. They cancel from month to month until conditions improve to the point they can safely resume. Also, they sure seem willing to wait long enough to sail without restrictions.
Carnival knew they didn't want to be the mask police. They had enough trouble with bad behavior before Covid-19. Nor do they want reduced capacity. They're not in business to break even.
They will attract more desirable travelers w a vax mandate. It's not really about you as a person getting sick vs the ship having to quarantine in their rooms for 23 hours a day.
Also, for those of us who use travel insurance, I suspect they will not cover unvaccinated people starting soon. It's a no-brainer.- 7

Just booked an inside on the Pearl. They ran out of insides and I am now stuck with a window. He he.

I got a credit from Carnival when my mom died.

Thanks for all the responses! I'll chat with Great-Grandma and find out. She's been on 50 HAL cruises so she gets the royal treatment!

We usually go Carnival due to our kids ages but I'd like to cruise with my husband's grandmother and she is a HAL gal.
I'd be taking my extremely extroverted 6yo DD with me. Do you think she'd be entertained enough on board? She loves camp and swimming.
I'm looking at a 7 day West Coast area cruise.

Muster station F on the Imagination is at the pool on the Lido deck. They have you sit at the tables while everyone else has to walk and stand. No going anywhere as the lifeboats are there too. They ask for no smoking or eating during but other than that you are just sitting in your bathing suit on the pool deck during muster. AWESOME.

CC usually will give phones to the parents of a child under age 5 or so. Maybe explain his situation and ask if you could have a phone as well. That way they can contact you if he is getting agitated or needs you for something.

Yikes, that's a long line for ATD. I am doing a 3-day with my 5 yo next week. It'll be her 4th Carnival cruise. We have ATD due to booking so late. Any recommendations to avoid the ATD line?

I don't worry about kids getting kidnapped, etc but the 10 yo boys pressing all the elevator buttons is annoying as hell.
I'd be fine with a 8 yo old heading out to get their own ice cream but wouldn't be comfortable letting her out at night to annoy other cruisers. Ha ha

Powdered Pedialyte.
My kids have been on 4 cruises. The only thing I'll so differently is bring some Matchbox cars for them this time now that they are old enough to keep track of them.
iPad for the long dinners.
Some nights you may not make it to dinner. Carnival has the best tuna sandwich I've ever had.
Testing Positive after 17 days

Did you do an at home test? And are you cruising 17 days after getting over being sick or just starting being sick? Because the big relapse thing usually happens 10 days in if you have Delta.
