Thanks, Kansas guy, for the answers.
Ok...any guys sailing on Feb 28 Legend that plan to head to the steam and sauna? What a way to start the cruise relaxing!
-
Cool...just one more question.. On the Legend, on which deck can I find the steam and sauna?
-
Are there lockers available? If so, where does one obtain the key?

We've always sailed Royal Caribbean and this is our first time on Carnival. Does the men's area at the spa have a steam and sauna? If so, what's the procedure for using them? Is it very crowded? Do guys wear a swim suit, or is a towel ok?
-
How large is the entire mens' area? Are the showers individual or group?
-
Now, that will make for some interesting conversation!
:D
-
:D Sounds good...thanks.
I don't mind it being active; sometimes I've met lots of good folks there.
-
So, Peggy, I take it by what you said, that the men's area and the women's area are both clothing optional? That's the way most of them are...or just wrap a towel. Thanks...
:D :D

Scott, Thanks for the info. That's been my experience on Serenade, Grandeur, and Radiance. Do you remember if they have a whirlpool jacuzzi type hot-tub in the men's area?
-
I'll be on the March 2nd sailing of the Adventure of the Seas. I want to take full advantage of the men's steam and sauna. Can anyone share with me your experience? How large are the facilities? Crowded?
-
Spurs Fan, did anything else happen?
-
SpursFan,
On the Radiance, there were some older teens who sat in the steam and sauna, too. But...that wasn't a bad thing...they all looked 18 or older. :D
-
The Radiance steam/sauna was superb as well. Just exactly like the Serenade, but not quite as active.
-
Only 5 weeks til we'll be able to experience the Radiance first hand!
Can't wait!
:)

Gigglewolf,
Just wondering if you were still around...
Great! Have a good week.

Gigglewolf?

Spurs Fan, That sounds great; looking forward to hear about it.
Gigglewolf, how about you?
:D
-
Spurs Fan,
I haven't been on the Mariner, but have heard the steam/sauna are most excellent there; quite active indeed. Let me know how it goes for you.

Gigglewolf and Spurs Fan,
You still there?
-
Gigglewolf,
Yes, we're back. Didn't get to research what you suggested. Stayed at a great place in the French Quarter, Le Richelieu.

Spurs Fan,
Le Richelieu is most excellent! We learned about it stopping at the welcome center at the LA state line; it's the only hotel in the French Quarter that has it's own on-site, non-valet free parking; that was attractive to us! And...we got a great rate! We've been very pleased.
No steam or sauna, or on-site massage therapist, but I guess you can't have everything like we have on Royal Caribbean! :)
:D

Gigglewolf,
Thanks for the info. We are actually staying at Le Richelieu on Rue de Chartres in the French Quarter. It is a very excellent hotel.
Today we took a tour and visited all the areas under water during Katrina; it was really eye-opening. 270,000 homes demolished! Now, 20 months later, it's still in shambles; it'll take years to rebuild completely.
Most people think the levees broke. They didn't. Some levees actually overflowed (over the top of the levees), but what actually broke were the walls to the canals. The levees were fine. Another misnomer perpetuated by the media.
I'll have a good visit to one of the steam/sauna and throw some beads...just for you.
:D

Gigglewolf and Spurs Fan,
We've traveled on from Biloxi to New Orleans, staying in the French Quarter. Do you know of any great spots for steam/sauna and/or massage?
-
Hey, Gigglewolf, Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you, but we're traveling. Didn't learn any more about the Sovereign steam/sauna, but let me give you this tip. If you ever go to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS, it is excellent and has a great steam and sauna. Although not as active as Luxor, it is still great. Also had a great massage from a massage therapist named Tom and it was the best massage I've ever had in all my travels.
Valor - Men's Steam & Sauna
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Will be going on Valor cruise out of San Juan on November 2nd. Please give me some information on the Men's Steam & Sauna. On what deck is it? Is it co-ed or located within men's area? What's the dress standard for using steam & sauna?
