  1. Spurs Fan,

Le Richelieu is most excellent! We learned about it stopping at the welcome center at the LA state line; it's the only hotel in the French Quarter that has it's own on-site, non-valet free parking; that was attractive to us! And...we got a great rate! We've been very pleased.

No steam or sauna, or on-site massage therapist, but I guess you can't have everything like we have on Royal Caribbean! :)

    :D

  2. Gigglewolf,

Thanks for the info. We are actually staying at Le Richelieu on Rue de Chartres in the French Quarter. It is a very excellent hotel.

Today we took a tour and visited all the areas under water during Katrina; it was really eye-opening. 270,000 homes demolished! Now, 20 months later, it's still in shambles; it'll take years to rebuild completely.

Most people think the levees broke. They didn't. Some levees actually overflowed (over the top of the levees), but what actually broke were the walls to the canals. The levees were fine. Another misnomer perpetuated by the media.

I'll have a good visit to one of the steam/sauna and throw some beads...just for you.

    :D

  3. Hey, Gigglewolf, Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you, but we're traveling. Didn't learn any more about the Sovereign steam/sauna, but let me give you this tip. If you ever go to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS, it is excellent and has a great steam and sauna. Although not as active as Luxor, it is still great. Also had a great massage from a massage therapist named Tom and it was the best massage I've ever had in all my travels.
